THE FAMOUS WALK AROUND THE TRE CIME DI LAVAREDO. AMAZING It’s a must: the famous walk around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Before describing the tour around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, I’ve got to say the following: if you really want to fully enjoy the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, forget visiting this magnificent corner of the Dolomites in summer and wait for autumn before walking along the stony paths that lead around the legendary Drei Zinnen triad. CLIMBING TECHNIQUES AND MOVES. USE OF THE FEET AND BASICS. Climbing techniques: feeling the centre of gravity. Correct exercises allow us to “feel” the centre of gravity and find balance through independent movements between pelvis and the rest of the body. Before lifting a foot, we must move the pelvis to seek an ideal balance on LAVAREDO. CLIMB UP A CLASSIC DOLOMITE CLIMB, CIMA GRANDE The Tre Cime di Lavaredo are probably the most famous mountains in the Dolomites and conquering the highest peak, Cima Grande di Lavaredo, at an altitude of 2999 m is often seen as an adventure for expert mountaineers only. In actual fact, whilst it is certainly a climb requiring a certain degree of mountaineering experience, the CimaGrande
FANES WATERFALLS, HIKING THROUGH DEEP CANYONS AND AMAZING The Fanes waterfalls, canyons and streams. This extremely panoramic and spectacular trip winds its way through deep canyons and gorges to the confluence of the Fanes, Travenenzes and Ra Vales valleys north of Cortina linking up hugely impressive sites in landscape and hydro-geological terms. TOFANA DI ROZES CIRCUIT AND THE HISTORICAL FERRATA The Tofana di Rozes circuit is definitely one of my favourite outings because of its wonderful natural environment, interesting history in both war and peace and for the legendary Minighèl ladder and Tofana di Rozes itself which, for me, is the most beautiful mountain in theDolomites.
AVALANCHES DANGER: USEFUL ADVICE AND INFORMATION. The avalanches: basic information and advice. The risk of avalanche is one of the constant worries of powder-snow skiers, ski-mountaineers and of ski-station management. Many fans of off-piste skiing and ski-mountaineering are concerned by it while others ignore it, either through lack of awareness, incompetence or over-confidence.
