MY TEN FAVORITE BOOKS Many people have requested my list of favorite books, so here you go. (I’ve sorted this list by author’s last name, fyi.) Read long and prosper! I hope you find them as useful as I have. 1. Influence: Science and Practice. Dr. Bob Cialdini. You should already know how I feel about this book because THE ONLY 10 SLIDES YOU NEED IN YOUR PITCH I am evangelizing the 10/20/30 Rule of PowerPoint. It’s quite simple: a pitch should have ten slides, last no more than twenty minutes, and contain no font smaller than thirty points.This rule is applicable for any presentation to reach an agreement: for example, raising capital, making a sale, forming a partnership, etc. TEN QUESTIONS WITH DR. PHILIP ZIMBARDO Dr. Philip G. Zimbardo has been a Stanford University professor since 1968. Zimbardo’s career is noted for giving psychology away to the public through his popular PBS-TV series, “Discovering Psychology,” along with many text and trade books, among his 300 publications. He was recently president of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Zimbardo conducted the (in)famous FREE ONLINE TERM SHEET GENERATOR If I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t believe it, but Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich, and Rosati, one of Silicon Valley’s dominant law firms (as in Apple, HP, etc), has created a free, online term sheet generator. This is because customers expect to discover products that are innovative and cool and are less interested in me-too, better sameness from startups.
