75 YEARS OF INNOVATION The HamiltonJet parent company, CWF Hamilton & Co Ltd, was formed in 1939, centred on the workshop at Irishman Creek Station. For the next 50 years the company pursued a policy of planned diversification, a natural progression from the effective innovation and JETANCHOR | HAMILTONJET JETanchor provides a range of new capabilities with two automatic operational modes: ‘station keeping’ and ‘virtual anchor’ mode. The JETanchor positioning system (with a new MouseBoat) is in addition to the current blue ARROW features and will allow marine operators the ability to use the new automatic modes for many operational requirements, as well as the existing manual manoeuvringSPECIFICATIONS 42

On the 23rd March after 19 years of continuous operation, Oz Jet in Sydney closed temporarily to the public due to COVID-19. I guess their numbers were already down, but more relevant is that there is little chance you can go on a ride like this and not come in close contact with your neighbours! I’ve highlighted Oz Jet rather than a kiwi thrill ride company to illustrate how global the HYBRID ELECTRIC DRIVELINE SOLUTIONS HamiltonJet partners with you to scope your vessel and find solutions that work for you. 5) Better reverse and low speed maneuverability than with a prop. 6) They’re easy to trailer and launch. There’s nothing hanging down to drag on the boat launch. 7) Swimmers, divers and wildlife are much safer around a jet. 8) Lower drag adds to overall efficiency. A jet HISTORY OF HAMILTON JET WATERJETS HamiltonJet founder Sir William Hamilton (Bill) began experimenting with marine jets in the shallow, rapid rivers of New Zealand in the 1950s. He followed the lead of the American Hanley Hydrojet. Using a round centrifugal water pump that drew in water and expelled it through a steerable nozzle under the boat, he achieved an encouraging but unspectacular speed of 11 mile per hour.HTX - HAMILTONJET

Recreational TODAY’S HAMILTONJET OFFERS MANY ADVANTAGES OVER COMPETING DRIVE SYSTEMS: * Reliability: fewer moving parts with most major components inboard and out of harm’s way * Maneuverability: split duct reverse bucket & JT nozzle combine for excellent maneuverability * Speed: optimized for speeds from 25-50 knots * Efficiency: meets or exceeds the best prop designs at speed of 30 knots or better * Shallow water operation: the ability to go where props simply can’t * 3 Regional offices supporting over 55 distributors and dealers located all over the world The HamiltonJet Waterjet is particularly suited to high speed planing vessels operating in the 20 to 50 knot range, but can also be successfully used in displacement speed vessels in certain situations. It is important to understand that waterjet propulsion operates quite differently to conventional propeller propulsion systems. This results in many advantages, along with a few disadvantages, when compared to propellers for any particular application. Anyone considering waterjets needs to understand how they work and how best to set up a vessel to make best use of this superior propulsiontechnology.
