PHOTOVOICE - HSR2018 Photovoice is a participatory action research methodology that involves the taking of images by individuals, the discussion and analysis of these images and the use of the images to communicate the lived experiences, strengths and challenges of the photographers. UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE WITH EQUITY: WHAT WE KNOW, DON’T HSR/BCKGRT/9/2010 This is a background paper for the First Global Symposium on Health Systems Research held 16-19 November, 2010, in Montreux, Switzerland.RENE LOEWENSON
Dr Rene Loewenson is an epidemiologist and director of Training and Research Support Centre. She has since 1980 implemented research, participatory action research, policy analysis, training and mentoring of work on equity in health and health systems in Zimbabwe, in east and southern Africa and internationally. She is a founder member of EQUINET and cluster lead of its Equity Watch work. 6TH GLOBAL SYMPOSIUM ON HEALTH SYSTEMS RESEARCH The Sixth Global Symposium on Health Systems Research will bring together over 2,000 policy-makers, practitioners and researchers from more than 100 countries to explore how we can build health systems which improve people's health and are socially just. ‘IT DESTROYS FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES’: ALCOHOL AND DRUG The combined effects of AOD abuse on families, communities, society and the economy were evident. Participants developed integrated community health action plans inclusive of multi-sectoral partnerships and monitoring mechanisms. PAR inclusive of Photovoice developed compelling evidence on the lived experience of AOD abuse in ruralcommunities.
