Hello peeps,
As I was typing the title of this post, I couldn’t help but gleam in satisfaction, for a number of reasons. One, I finally came up with a pattern for a knit beanie, although my contribution is little. Two, I finally had time to put up a blog post and a pattern that I love, with a baby girl who just discovered crawling and is teething at the same time. Three, I promised myself I would get it out before Easter andthere it is.
Alright, all the chit chatter aside let’s get on to the pattern with the disclaimer. I’m no expert at pattern writing or at knitting, I taught myself to do both and I love sharing how its done for those whoare interested.
I made a basic beanie following the pattern for a 12 month old basic baby beanie from Mamas stitchery projects. I’m so
thankful for the wonderfully written free pattern on that blog. However since I used a bigger sized needles, my gauge was way off and I ended up with a slightly bigger circumference. Although it somehow fit my baby girl so all is well. Now getting on to the rabbits ears, I wish I had double pointed needles so I didn’t have to sew the two bits, but I only had circular needles at hand.Supplies Used:
* 4.5mm circular needles * Acrylic 8 ply yarn* tapestry needles
Gauge:
20 stitches and 25 rows = 4 inches stockinettePattern:
I followed the pattern on the fore mentioned blog to tee for the beanie. Now heading on to ears make two of the white parts for the outer ear and two pink bits for the inner ear. The white part is slightly bigger than the pink part so that it is still visible in thefront as well.
Using white colored yarn, cast on 16 stitches. I used the long tail knit cast on, and then stockinette stitch for 11 cms. i.e., 26 rows of knit 16 and purl 16Report this ad

EMBROIDERED VEGETABLE STORAGE BAG February 24, 2017February 24, 2017| Divs
Hello there! I’m back with another embroidery venture of mine, and not to forget even hand sewn. With an active baby girl who mostly catnaps through the day I barely have time for anything other than chores, but that wouldnt stop me from getting this done. Ideally, it should have been done in a day but it took me two whole weeks to get it done. I folded a piece of fabric 25×30 cms and sewed the sides of the bag. Folded the top part to make space for the drawstring and sewed it in place. Now getting on to the embroidery since the thread count of this muslin was very less I used another backing fabric to do the wool embroidery. Then free handed the carrot pattern, I wanted the carrots to appear as a bunch when the bag is pulled close, hence spaced them accordingly. Im so proud of this idea, that I’m claiming royalty rights to anyone who wants to do this Actually I love the way it turned out, exactly the way I want it to be. My carrots have stayed fresh for over a week and I couldnt be any more happier with this pretty bag.KNIT BABY BOOTS

Hello! I fell in love with these cookie style boots the moment I saw them and made one for my little bubby. At that time I only had four ply yarn in hand and the pattern called for a chunkier wool. So I made up my own counts and here they are. I wouldn’t say they were perfect looking but still looked cute enough. KNITTING CAST-ON & STITCHES Small Patch: Cast On 12 Stitches, Knit 46 Rows Long Patch: Cast On 54 Stitches, Knit 20 Rows There’s a video on YouTube which should help you with attaching these two patches together to make these boots. CROCHET IN LESS THAN AN HOUR PURSE July 12, 2016July 12, 2016| Divs
Hello! This is one quick crochet project, and if you have a sewing machine and if you know how to use it you’ve got yourself a purse in less than an hour. Poor me, I don’t have a sewing machine and I had to sew it all by hand(That explains the not so even edges). And it still was a quick enough project and I love how well it has turned out. This is the pattern for the flower motif that I’ve used and I hope I’m not infringing anybody’s rights to the pattern. I made three of these and stitched it to the purse. I mostly free handed the measurements of the purse and cut out the length of fabric which housed all three in a horizontal line across. I’ve used a stretchy cottony fabric(up cycled T-shirt) hence to make it sturdier used a backing and a lining fabric. Hope you have fun making this asmuch as I did.
BANANAS IN PAJAMAS AMIGURUMI – FREE PATTERN May 28, 2016July 13, 2016| Divs
Hello there, don’t you worry I’m not getting ahead of myself making toys from ABC shows for the baby already. This one’s a gift for a cute little girl who loves bananas in pajamas. For the first time, I’ve used knitting in amigurumi and I’m pretty pleased with myself with the way it has turned out. The pattern may not be ideally how a knit pattern is written, please bear with me and let me know if there are ways to improve it while I’m still teaching myself toknit.
