Honourpoint is an online memorial to honour, appreciate and remember the committed and valiant sons and daughters of India who had the distinction of serving the country in “military uniform”, and are no longer with us. It is an endeavour to ensure that supreme sacrifices of our soldiers and their families do not fade away and are given the right place in our collective national consciousness. MAJOR DAVID MANLUN KC Major David Manlun KC. Major David Manlun hailed from Churachandpur district in Manipur and was born on 27 Jul 1985 in Imphal, Manipur. Son of an army veteran Subedar M Khamzalam, Major David Manlun had four siblings. His elder brother is serving with the Army and sister is married to an Army officer Col Ashutosh Kumar. CAPTAIN HANEEF UDDIN VRC Legacy. Photos. Captain Haneef Uddin hailed from Delhi and was born on 23 August 1974. He had lost his father when he was eight years old and had two brothers Nafees and Sameer. His mother Hema Aziz is a classical singer who worked for Sangeet Natak Academy and Kathak Kendra in Delhi. Capt Haneef was a science graduate from Shivajicollege, Delhi.
LT COL DEWAN RANJIT RAI MVC Lieutenant Colonel Dewan Ranjit Rai was the Commanding Officer of 1 Sikh. Immediately on landing at Srinagar, on 27 October 1947, he appreciated that it was imperative to hold and oppose the raiders as far away as possible from the vital city of Srinagar and its adjacent airfield. MAJOR SUDHIR KUMAR WALIA AC, SM (BAR) For his bravery and exceptional service to the nation during his service career, Major Sudhir Kumar Walia was awarded Sena Medal two times,a rare honour for a soldier. On 29 August 1999, Major Sudhir Kumar Walia, 9 PARA with a squad of five commandos chanced upon a well-camouflaged hideout with 20 dreaded terrorists. LT COL RAMAKRISHNAN VISHWANATHAN, VRC Lt Col Vishwanathan was a valiant soldier and a gritty officer who laid down his life in the service of the nation. Lt Col Vishwanathan was given the gallantry award, “Vir Chakra” for his cold courage, leadership, comradeship and supreme sacrifice. The citation for the Vir Chakra awarded to him reads: During ‘Operation Vijay SQUADRON LEADER RAJIV PUNDIR VM Squadron Leader Rajiv Pundir VM. Sqn Ldr Rajiv Pundir was born on 28 April 1962 in Dehradun. After completing his schooling from St. Joseph’s Academy he had joined NDA (National Defence Academy) in June 1979 and was commissioned into the IAF on 29th May 1983. Sqn Ldr Pundir was an all round officer, and besides being a keen sportsman hehad a
MAJOR RAJESH SINGH ADHIKARI, MVC Major Rajesh Singh Adhikari was born on 25 Dec 1970 in Tallital in Nainital, a scenic hill spot in the state of Uttarakhand. He did his initial schooling from St. Joseph’s College, Nainital, middle school from Government Inter College and completed his graduation from KumaonUniversity in 1992.

MAJ VIBHUTI SHANKAR DHOUNDIYAL SC Maj Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal hailed from Dehradun in Uttarakhand and was born on 18 Dec 1987. Son of Shri OP Dhondiyal and Smt Saroj Dhondiyal, Maj Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal had three sisters and was the youngest among his siblings. Maj Vibhuti’s father as well as grandfather had worked in the office of Controller Defence Accounts. LT COL DEWAN RANJIT RAI MVC The citation of Maha Vir Chakra awarded to him reads: Lieutenant Colonel Dewan Ranjit Rai was the Commanding Officer of 1 Sikh. Immediately on landing at Srinagar, on 27 October 1947, he appreciated that it was imperative to hold and oppose the raiders as far away as possible from the vital city of Srinagar and its adjacent airfield. MAJOR BHUPINDER SINGH MVC Major Bhupinder Singh was born on 19th September 1928 at Rupnagar in Ropar district of Punjab. Son of Shri Sajjan Singh, Maj Bhupinder joined the army after completing his education.He was commissioned into the Hodson’s Horse on 11th December 1949. By the year 1965, he had been promoted to the rank of Major and had put in over 15 years of SQN LDR PRASHANT KUMAR BUNDELA VM Videos. Col M N Rai was the youngest of 13 officers awarded the Yudh Seva Medal on Republic Day for killing a terrorist in a close battle in 2014. The Yudh Seva Medal is awarded for the distinguished service in a war or conflict. Col M N Rai was also given the gallantry award, ‘Shaurya Chakra” for his courage, leadership and supremesacrifice.
