Our hearts and minds are heavy as we reflect on the discovery of the unmarked remains of 215 children at the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. We honour these children who should have grown to be ancestors, their families, the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation and all Indigenous communities. Survivors and their families can contact the National Indian Residential School Crisis Line at 1-866-925-4419. We will continue to read and implement the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action and ask all non-Indigenous people do the same. This is Canada’s legacy, and we must work to end systemic violence against Indigenous peoples. You can get your copy of the TRC Call To Action Booklet (link in our bio).
