BISHOP TIM THORNTON TO RETIRE AS BISHOP AT LAMBETH Bishop Tim has been Bishop at Lambeth since 2017. Previously he was Bishop of Truro, and Bishop of Sherborne before that. VISIT LAMBETH PALACE As it is a working palace and a family home, Lambeth Palace is not open to the public on a daily basis. National Garden Scheme 2021. We will be opening the Palace Gardens on Monday 17th May from 5pm - 8pm, with last entry at 7pm, for visitors to enjoy the spring planting. The awards, which recognise outstanding contributions to the Church and wider society, have been given to over 30 individuals. They include scientists, musicians, academics, activists, peacemakers, doctors and clergy. The Church of England is committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of everyone within our church community so that all can flourish in faith and know the love of God. We all have a responsibility to care for one another, and to keep people safe from harm, and it is especially important that children and vulnerable adults are protected. ARCHBISHOP'S AWARDS AND EXAMINATIONS The Peter's Pence Act of 1533 gave the Archbishop of Canterbury the power to grant academic degrees (previously bestowed by the Pope).
