The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) within ASD is the hub for private and public sector collaboration to prevent and combat cyber security threats. It provides information, advice and assistance to help make Australia the safest place to connect online. ESTABLISHMENT OF A SIGNALS INTELLIGENCE ORGANISATION POST On 23 July 1946, the Australian Government approved in principle the establishment of the Signals Intelligence Centre in Melbourne as part of the British Commonwealth Signals Intelligence Organisation. DIRECTOR-GENERAL ASD SPEECH TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY In 2020, ASD is charged by the government to fulfil three core missions. To generate foreign signals intelligence that gives the government insight into global strategic and military developments – and we do. SELECTION PROCESS
Security assessment. A comprehensive security assessment is a prerequisite for all ASD staff. Security assessments measure your personal integrity and suitability to work in a high security environment. Security assessments involve a background check and a psychological assessment. Both parts comprise a questionnaire and aninterview.
ASD DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION STRATEGY 2019-22 In 2019 our diversity and inclusion maturity was approaching a compliance focus, which is the second stage of five in a journey towards a fully embedded level of diversity and inclusion. We assessed ourselves against three best practice areas: leadership commitment and the current cultural climate.
