Learn astrophotography. Take pictures of the wonders of the heavens like the Moon, planets, comets, stars, nebulas, galaxies, eclipses, meteor showers and conjunctions! On this web site you will find examples of astrophotos, how to take them, and how to process them to produce beautiful results. We've got:* Example images

Deep-sky objects in the night sky such as nebulas and galaxies are _very_ faint and _very_ far away. Some require exposures that are hours long . Others are bright enough to be shot with a smartphone . High-resolution planetary images reveal details on amazing solar system objects like the Saturn, Jupiter
, Mars
, the Sun
and the Moon
.
Other special astronomical events like the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse , and comets Hyakutake, and NEOWISE
have made some incredible images as well as some favorite memories. Also check out my equipment reviews , videos and bedtime stories.
I've been doing this for almost 50 years now, and even have some ancient astrophotos taken on film from the last millennium, and a section on film astrophotography techniques.
If you are just starting out as a beginner , or have fallen in love with the hobby and want to know a lot more, check out my in-depth digital astrophotography books with detailed explanations and step-by-step instructions to help you take beautiful astronomicalimages.
