She was drinking tea under a tree when a cocoon fell into her cup. First off is white. Under the UV light, butterfly eyes see it as a bright glow, and this is why all of our team members in the aviary have white on their shirts. Furthermore, the butterfly eye is also drawn to the glowing pink and red colours which often appear on ornear a flower.

THE HERCULES MOTH: THE MOTH THAT DOESN'T EAT The adult Hercules Moth survives on food stores from when it was a caterpillar. These magnificent giant moths only live for 10 to 14 days and have the main goal of finding a mate and reproducing. Interestingly, female Hercules Moths emit a pheromone that can attract male suitors from over 2km away. Now that’s what we call strongperfume!
