Two bitumen runways of over 1,500m and 2,000m were constructed, and the airfield was known as the “invisible airfield” due to the camouflage overbuildings

Onslow offers a range of great fishing spots. In the town, you’ll find good fishing at Sunrise and Sunset Beach with a boat launch facility at Sunrise Beach and fish cleaning facilities at Sunset Beach. Beadon Creek offers fishing from the wharf at the Groyne. Travel a little further out of town to Four Mile Creek, where shadedpicnic and BBQ
MYALLS BORE AND WATER TROUGH Visit Myalls Bore, near Derby to witness the ingenuity of the early farmers who drew water from the depths of the earth to fill a massive 120 metre long trough. Built in the early 1900s, the impressive historic trough provided water for up to 1,000 head of cattle at a time. It is said to be one of the longest cattle troughs in thesouthern

Galvan’s Gorge is the most accessible gorge along the Gibb, located just 1 kilometre off the road. This is a popular and pretty swimming spot, with a small seasonal waterfall flowing into a horseshoe shaped pool. Galvans Gorge is located 14 kilometres west of the Mt Barnett DANGGU GEIKIE GORGE BOAT TOUR Enjoy the panoramic views while Parks and Wildlife Service rangers take you on a guided journey through Geikie Gorge where you will learn about the stunning geology, wildlife and cultural significance of this ancient gorge. Danggu Geikie Gorge has been carved by the Fitzroy River through part of an ancient limestone barrier reef which snakes across the west Kimberley. SILENT GROVE CAMPGROUND The campground at Silent Grove is a great base from which to explore Bell Gorge, including its beautiful waterfall and swimming hole located approximately 11 kilometres to the north-west of the campsite.
