GARDEN TOURS
The Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens offers tours of selected areas of the Gardens by golf cart for people with genuine mobility impairments. These are available for individuals and small groups, but must be scheduled in advance. The Forman Garden was dedicated in 2003, and was given to honor James Forman, Jr. by his family. It was designed by Louise “Weesie” Smith and features a palette strong in Alabama native plants. These include serviceberry, silverbell, baptisia, butterfly weed, catchfly, and deciduous azaleas. SEED EXCHANGE AT THE GARDENS' LIBRARY The Library at Birmingham Botanical Gardens offers a Seed Exchange, and we would love for you to participate! We took our old card catalog and filled it with open pollinated vegetable, fruit, herb, and flower seeds. Our Seed Exchange program was set up to share the benefits and importance of seed saving, which encourages natural biodiversity. Birmingham Botanical Gardens is open to all, every day of the week.
