BLUES ROCK REVIEW
Reviews, interviews, and more from the world's best in blues rock.REVIEWS ARCHIVES
Words like precocious, prodigy, and potential don’t carry the same weight as a child star ages. Counterintuitively, if held onto, Readmore
GARY MOORE: HOW BLUE CAN YOU GET REVIEW Blues Rock Titan Gary Moore is one of the greatest guitarists to ever walk the earth and a musical force of nature. His playing is revered both for his high-speed hard-rocking fretboard attack as well as his melodic and softer solos, full of his soaring sustained notes andpassionate licks.
EDDIE TURNER: CHANGE IN ME REVIEW Eddie Turner’s Change in Me is soul-packed vocals joined to funky, low-key blues, with the funk presenting not as treble-y, wrist-breaking guitar, but rather as sexy, even mysterious grooves that take the listener on a journey, but always returns them to where they started.. Singer/guitarist Turner came up through the Colorado-based Zephyr, the hard rock band founded by guitarist TommyBolin.
BLUES TRAVELER ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM "TRAVELER'S BLUES Blues Traveler has announced the release of their new studio album Traveler’s Blues on Round Hill Records, a collection of re-imagined and re-charged classics from The American Blues Songbook, set for release on July 30, 2021. In addition, two singles “Funky Bitch” and “Ball & Chain” (feat. Christone “Kingfish” Ingram) will bereleased June 7th.
MIKE ZITO TO RELEASE "RESURRECTION" Blues rock guitarist Mike Zito is set to release Resurrection on July 16. The album follows 2020’s Quarantine Blues, which was voted #6 on Blues Rock Review’s top 20 albums of 2020.. The 11 track album is produced by Grammy winner David Z. Resurrection features eight JOE BONAMASSA: NOW SERVING: ROYAL TEA LIVE FROM THE RYMAN Buy the album: Amazon | Amazon UK “Joe Bonamassa’s “Now Serving: Royal Tea Live From The Ryman” is released on CD, Vinyl, DVD and Blu-ray by Provogue/Mascot Label CURTIS SALGADO: DAMAGE CONTROL REVIEW Curtis Salgado’s Damage Control is 50s-inspired rock and roll, his sumptuous voice defining the album, which joins soul and rhythm and blues to the piano-driven music of another era.. Salgado isn’t doing a purely throwback album, though. There are more contemporary touches, plus cracker crisp production, that place this album in the currentcentury.
THE BLUES ROCK SHOW: DALLAS INTERNATIONAL GUITAR FESTIVAL On the final Blues Rock Show from Dallas, Pete and Willie recap the Dallas International Guitar Festival and pick their standout performers from the festival. DAMON FOWLER: ALAFIA MOON REVIEW The promotional materials for Alafia Moon emphasize Fowler’s guitar prowess. And they should. Fowler’s got guitar game, proven by gorgeous slide lines crying out like a person. But he’s also got a soulful voice and is a strong songwriter, meaning you’re not hearing an album of hot licks, but rather a collection of full-blown songs.BLUES ROCK REVIEW

Resurrection features eight TOP 20 ALBUMS OF 2020 14. Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown: Pressure “Pressure is the fourth full-length album by Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, and since its release on October 16th, has been acclaimed on social media as the greatest album of the band. And I think they are quite right. Pressure is an album that lifts blues rock in its essence, with melodic vocals, powerful guitar riffs, firm drum beats, and TOP 10 WALTER TROUT SONGS (Buy on Amazon) 9. “Playin’ Hideaway” Driving and pulsing, the direct, opening guitar riff sets the tone for the tune. Interspersed with curt guitar licks and fueled by Trout’s gruff vocal delivery, this straightforward song entices listeners to hit the repeat button. WHEN RIVERS MEET: WE FLY FREE REVIEW We Fly Free is the exciting debut album by When Rivers Meet, the British husband and wife blues rock duo comprised of Aaron and Grace Bond. They are backed by a multi-talented rhythm section comprised of Adam Bowers on bass, drums, organ, and piano along with Robin G. Breeze also on bass, organ, and piano. TOP 10 BETH HART SONGS (Buy on Amazon) 8. “Love Is a Lie” “Love Is a Lie” comes from Hart’s 2016 studio album Fire On the Floor. It’s a broken hearted rant where she passionately sings that “Love is a lie sucking you dry” and to make the point more poignantly painful, lead guitarist Jon Nichols performs an emotionally escalating guitar solo. SHEMEKIA COPELAND: UNCIVIL WAR REVIEW Shemekia Copeland continues to explore Americana through a strong blues influence on Uncivil War, a charmingly rootsy and rocking album of tasty guitar, bold lyrics, and, of course, Copeland’s powerhouse voice, which drives the entire album.. Uncivil War picks up where 2018’s America’s Child left off, and while both included lots of impressive guests, War uses less guest singers and more TOP 10 SAMANTHA FISH SONGS Samantha Fish has quickly turned into one of the premier artists in the blues rock scene ever since she released her debut album Runaway in 2011. Her records have been produced by some of the top guitarists in the blues rock genre including Mike Zito and Luther Dickinson. TOP 10 LARKIN POE SONGS Larkin Poe is comprised of multi-instrumentalist sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell. The group is named after their great, great, great grandfather Larkin Poe who was a cousin of creative writing geniusEdgar Allen Poe.
