We offer Naturalist Guided Trail walks, school field trips, KidSummer day programs, Family Art, internships, multigenerational STEM to STEAM events and programs, Nature Knowledge presentations, Junior Naturalist opportunity and hands on professional development FAMILY ACTIVITIES, MARINE SCIENCE, ECOTOURISM: THE TRAILS Trails of the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. JOHN WING TRAIL (1.3 mile) is our most popular field walk. It passes through coastal pitch pine woodlands, across a salt marsh, to Wing Island and finally descends through a salt marsh swale to the barrier beach and tidal pools of Cape Cod Bay. This is truly a microcosm of the Cape'slandscape.

First Citizens' is proud to introduce the Museum Trail. CAPE COD FAMILY ACTIVITIES: VISIT THE AQUARIUM AT CAPE COD We have begun to raise moon jellyfish from polyps. Our first aquarium bred moon jellyfish entered the exhibit tank on January 1, 2021. The moon jelly is four weeks old. It is smaller than an inch, measuring about 2cm. The body is made up of 95% water, 3% protein, and 1%mineral.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES, MARINE SCIENCE, ECOTOURISM: THE TRAILS Trails of the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. JOHN WING TRAIL (1.3 mile) is our most popular field walk. It passes through coastal pitch pine woodlands, across a salt marsh, to Wing Island and finally descends through a salt marsh swale to the barrier beach and tidal pools of Cape Cod Bay. This is truly a microcosm of the Cape'slandscape.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION Join us! The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is a not-for-profit organization, with an annual budget supported mainly by its members. Grants, donations, matching gifts, bequests and program revenues support our programs, but your annual membership fees BUTTERFLY HOUSE AND POLLINATOR PATH AT CAPE COD MUSEUM OF The Butterfly House is a pre-paid $30 fee for up to 8 people per pod* per 15-minute time slot. RESERVATIONS for each time slot are REQUIRED. Please call 508.896.3867 x133. NOTE: The Butterfly House is a pre-paid add-on. You must pay Admission to the Museum at the door. The Butterfly House is open Tuesday, June 1, 2021 - Sunday, September 5,2021.
CARING FOR OUR RESIDENT ANIMALS Dehydrated and frozen shrimp are a major part of the diet of our aquarium animals. The animals currently consume roughly two pounds of fresh or frozen fish per week. This does not include the shellfish that is also purchased for the animals. The Aquarist prepares "dishes" of food for the animals adding vitamins and other supplements. INSPIRE APPRECIATION, UNDERSTANDING AND STEWARDSHIP OF OUR History. On February 20, 1954, Kathryn Berrien, Ruth Francis Clark along with Admont Clark, Ann Thatcher, Harry Holl, John Hay and Scott Corbett met around a table and after a long brainstorming session came up with the name – Cape Cod Junior Museum and they adopted this statement of purpose: “to encourage and enable the children of Cape Cod, and also their parents and teachers, to study BIRD WATCHING, ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS: LAND A grant received from the New England Natural Areas and Wildlife Grant Program helped support a project to enhance habitat for both common and uncommon bird species, including migrating birds that use the land for breeding, feeding, and shelter.
