CHIVA’s mission is to ensure that children, young people and families living with HIV become healthier, happier and more in control of their own futures. CHIVA works to ensure young people living with HIV have the treatment and care, knowledge, understanding, skills and wider support needed to live well and achieve their greatestpotential.
CHIVA :: GUIDELINES
CHIVA guidelines are produced to support clinical care. All guidelines are peer reviewed by a multidisciplinary Expert Group to ensure that any advice given reflects best practice and up-to-date information. The local authority can seek a full care order, under section 31 of the Children Act 1989.This means the local authority holds much more responsibility and the parent loses more of their rights to make decisions for the child. CHIVA :: LIFE GROWING UP FILM Life Growing Up is a short film created from the real life stories of young people who have grown up with HIV. It aims to increase awareness and understanding of the experiences and needs of young people living with HIV.
