Cuisinicity® is about love, first and foremost. I didn’t realize it then but Cuisinicity was born when I fell in love with my husband a lifetime ago! VEGAN BURGER
Allright, I have to admit, I have been trying to create the perfect vegan burger for a long time now without much success. I mean, really, much like the typical ones I had tasted before, they were either too mushy, or too obviously "healthy-tasting" (that's the French foodie in me speaking!!) or jus CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES Instructions. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream Smart Balance, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and espresso powder. Add eggs – beat for at least 2 minutes. Combine flour, baking soda and gradually add to creamed mixture. Beat well – another 2 minutes –then
BASIC BLACK LENTILS
Rinse and drain the soaked lentils, and put them in a microwave-safe bowl with seasoning and water. 1/4 – 1/2 tsp salt (to taste) and 1/4 cup water per 1 cup dry lentils. Microwave covered for 3 minutes. Add another 1/4 cup water, stir, and microwave another 3-4 minutes. With MOROCCAN TAGINE (VEGAN) Instructions. Heat 3 Tbsp of the olive oil (keep remaining 1 Tbsp for later) in a large shallow skillet and sauté the sliced onions for a few minutes. Add the fresh grated ginger and garlic and stir. Add the turmeric, cumin, cinnamon and stir. Add the potatoes and salt and gently stir to coat the potatoes with the spices and olive oil. BISCOTTI DIPPED IN DARK CHOCOLATE Instructions. Preheat oven to 325. Place the nuts in a food processor and pulse just to chop them coarsely and set aside. Place the egg, egg whites, vanilla and sugar in the bowl of a electric mixer and beat until creamy. Add 2 cups of the flour, baking soda and beat again.FRENCH APPLE TART
Place 1 Tbsp smart balance in a microwavable little bowl and cook in the microwave oven on high for 2-3 seconds. Add applesauce, almond meal and egg and stir well with a spoon until thoroughly mixed. Chickpea Calentica is the garbanzo bean or chickpea flour version of cornmeal polenta. It is such a wonderful, nutritious, protein-filled go-to simple “base” to use with any topping you’d like! Originally, Calentica was one of those street food sold in the streets in my family’s hometown of Oran, in Algeria.WHOLE WHEAT BOULE
Instructions. Preheat oven to 400. Place ½ cup of lukewarm water* in a small cup and add the sugar and active yeast, stir and let sit for 5-8 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy. It will double in size. You would never know that I gave it the cuisinicity touch: whole wheat pastry flour instead of plain white flour for added fiber, regular smart balance instead of butter to replace saturated fat, and considerably reduced sugar typically used for a batch that makes 3 dozen chocolateWHOLE WHEAT BOULE

Allright, I have to admit, I have been trying to create the perfect vegan burger for a long time now without much success. I mean, really, much like the typical ones I had tasted before, they were either too mushy, or too obviously "healthy-tasting" (that's the French foodie in me speaking!!) or jus CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES Instructions. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream Smart Balance, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and espresso powder. Add eggs – beat for at least 2 minutes. Combine flour, baking soda and gradually add to creamed mixture. Beat well – another 2 minutes –then

Instructions. Preheat oven to 400. Place ½ cup of lukewarm water* in a small cup and add the sugar and active yeast, stir and let sit for 5-8 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy. It will double in size. While the yeast is rising, pour the remaining cup of lukewarm water in the bowl of a stand electric mixer fitted with a dough hook and add WHOLE WHITE WHEAT PANCAKES Coat a large nonstick skillet or griddle with a little canola oil; heat over medium heat. Pour the batter into the preheated pan (or onto the griddle) by pulling the release handle to make perfect circles. Cook until the edges are dry and you see some bubbles on the surface, 2 to 3 minutes. Flip and cook until golden brown on the other side, 2FRENCH APPLE TART
Place 1 Tbsp smart balance in a microwavable little bowl and cook in the microwave oven on high for 2-3 seconds. Add applesauce, almond meal and egg and stir well with a spoon until thoroughly mixed. Assembling: Place the dough between two 10" ziploc gallon storage bags and gently roll into a circle to fit a 9 inch pie dish. RED POTATO PROVENÇAL Preheat the oven 350 F. Sautee the onions in the olive oil until just soft (about 10 minutes) but not fully cooked (they will continue to cook in the oven) and set aside. Place dry couscous and olive oil in a small bowl and stir with a fork to coat the grains. Pour boiling water over the oiled couscous and gently stir. Cover and let sit for 5 minutes. Chickpea Calentica is the garbanzo bean or chickpea flour version of cornmeal polenta. It is such a wonderful, nutritious, protein-filled go-to simple “base” to use with any topping you’d like! Originally, Calentica was one of those street food sold in the streets in my family’s hometown of Oran, in Algeria.SIMPLY GRILLED PEAR
Instructions. Rinse the pears, cut in half length wise, and core. Place olive oil in a little container and, using a pastry brush, "paint" a little olive oil on the cut surface of the pears. Place a non-stick grill pan on the stove on high heat. When hot, place the pears, cut side down on the hot grill pan and grill them for 5-6minutes, uncovered.
LEMON PISTACHIO CHICKEN Reduce the heat to a simmer and return the chicken cutlets to the pan. Add the chopped pistachio nuts and lemon zest, and spoon gently to coat the chicken. Continue to simmer for an additional 4-5 minutes uncovered until the juices thicken. 3.2.2802. I have never before been satisfied with so-called-healthy versions of apple tarts! In the several versions that I have tried, the crust doesn’t hold together well and the apples are typically dry. I say “never”--that is, until I created this one! This sweet crust is a nutritionally upgraded version WHOLE WHITE WHEAT PANCAKES These pancakes are made with organic whole white wheat which has all the nutritional advantages of traditional whole wheat, but with a lighter color and a milder taste--just perfect for fluffy pancakes! It turns out whole white wheat flour is not refined flour, it is simply WHOLE flour – including CANOLA OIL OLIVE OIL COCONUT OIL SATURATED FATSCANOLA OIL SATURATED FATFAT IN OLIVE OILOLIVE OIL FAT CONTENTOLIVE OIL SATURATED OR UNSATURATEDOILS HIGH IN SATURATED FATSATURATED FAT IN OLIVE OIL Many of you have asked me why I prefer to use canola or olive oil over coconut oil in my recipes.In the two videos linked to below, my husband, who of course is the nutritional expert behind the inspiration for all my recipes gives a very concise and clear answer! am a French-born-and-raised foodie, and lover of luscious cuisine. But I am also a scientist, earning my PhD in neuroscience at Princeton University. So, when David presented me with the challenge of his very demanding nutrition standards, we realized that his passion for health and my love of French cooking also needed to be wed!
