The minor pentatonic scale pattern that I demonstrate in the video guitar lesson is actually the opposite of my 1st grade example. The numbers are going backwards. So 654,543,432,321. With a shorter scale neck it will be easier to reach when playing chords and notes. Besides the scale of the neck, they come in different shapes and thicknesses. The more strings you skip, the more the stretch. JAZZ GUITAR CHORDS IN II V CHORD PROGRESSIONS Jazz Guitar Chords in the II V I Chord Progression in Bb – Version 2. The next set of jazz guitar chords are a little more “jazzy”. For the II chord you are going to play a Cm7 (11). That’s a Cm7 chord with an extra jazz spice thrown in called a “tension”. So Cm7 with an added tension 11, or sometimes called a Cm11 chord (Cminor 11).

Prime – the most basic interval, this is simply the same note played consecutively. 2. Major 3rd – this interval contains 2 notes spaced 2 whole steps apart (such as C to E, G to A, etc), and has a familiar uplifting, happy quality. 3. Perfect 5th – this interval spacing is 3 1/2 steps (C to G, G to D, etc). CHROMATIC SCALES FOR GUITAR Chromatic Scales on Guitar. The word chromatic in music means 2 or more consecutive notes that are a half step (1 fret) apart from one another. A guitar chromatic scale contains all 12 possible pitches before arriving back at the starting note name an octave higher.. Here are the notes in a C chromatic scale. FIXING A COMMON GUITAR TUNING PROBLEM Putting the Graphite in the Groove. Set your guitar down on the floor or on a table. You may want to put a towel under the area of the nut so that you don’t get graphite on your nice white carpet. Loosen all of the strings on your guitar enough so that you can move them off to the side and out of the slots in the nut. ONE OF THE COOL CHORDS In this video guitar lesson I’m going to show you one of the “cool chords”. One of the “money chords”. A guitar chord that the pros use as a substitute for a regular old D major chord. It is called Dadd9 (add4), or Dadd4 (add9), or Dadd9 (4), or Dadd4 (9). That’s the problem with some of the cool chordsthey sometimes don’t have WHY YOUR GUITAR PICKING SPEED ISN’T IMPROVING As a result, many guitarists develop the habit of picking everything with a very light touch and when they try to play faster, they are able to apply even less power to each note. This means that the faster you play, the less your playing is heard. Eventually you will reach a speed where your pick doesn’t even make contact with the string. GUITARISTS WHO PLAY CHORDS WITH THEIR THUMB John Mayer. John makes uses of all kinds of chords where he plays notes on the 6th string with his thumb. Many could not be played any other way and helps give his acoustic songs a unique sound. Below is acoustic guitar show that he played back in 2008. Keep an eye on this left hand and all of those notes he is playing with his thumb.Cyberfret.com
