Computer Stuff from DedaSys.com. When we started preparing to move to the US, we were almost 100% sure we were going to go to Boulder, Colorado.. It’s a nice town, with a lot of things going for it: beautiful places to go outdoors, a good university, and a booming techscene.

There are a number of people like me, firmly grounded in the open source world, who are happy to get something that 1) works, 2) looks to have legs in terms of popularity, and 3) will beopen source.

After a bit more than two years, I'm writing a follow up to the post I wrote when we moved here - rather than Boulder, Colorado - from Italy. First and foremost, I have been enjoying the things to do in Bend, primarily mountain biking. There are tons of great mountain bike trails here ( https://bendtrails.org WHERE TCL AND TK WENT WRONG Tk is actually a separate bit of code, but since many of the widgets are scripted in Tcl, the two are joined at the hip. Still, though, Tk is compelling enough that it’s utilized as the default GUI library for half a dozen other languages. A simple, powerful language. Tcl is IN THRALL TO SCARCITY The other possibility is that your client works in the “real world” of scarcity directly – they sell books or beer or cars or something else where the product is, by its nature inherently scarse. In this case, they still have the leverage – you work to help their GIT IS A PAIN IN THE ASS Everyone's been talking about how great and wonderful git is, and I've tried using it for a few projects of my own, on a local basis, sort of like an advanced form of 'rcs'. So I thought I'd try it out in a little bit more complicated setup, for a site I host on my BOULDER, COLORADO VS BEND, OREGON So when the company in question made an offer that was very competitive with those in Boulder, everything clicked: a good place to work, good pay, cheaper housing that we might be able to buy into sooner, and still plenty of outdoor opportunities and a dry climate. That’s why we’re going to Bend, Oregon rather than Boulder,Colorado.

WHEN TO USE AWS
Amazon's "web services" - AWS for short - have made quite a splash in the developer community. It's pretty impressive how much horsepower you can harness in a very short amount of time. However, it's not the most economical solution, nor the simplest. I think many startups are blinded to these facts by dreams ofERLANG VS NODE.JS
I've written about Erlang in the past, and my suspicion that, soon or later, other languages/systems will come along and "eat its lunch". Scala is one such potential contender. Another that has been gaining some visiblity lately is node.js, a simple framework for creating networked applications on top of Google's V8 Javascript engine.. I should define what Erlang's lunch is a little bit PARALLELS WITH UBUNTU 15.10 At work, I don't have a proper Linux computer yet, and am a bit reticent to install Linux on the Mac I have. So I've been using Parallels. TCL AND THE TK TOOLKIT, 2ND EDITION It’s not actually “my” book at all; it was originally written by Dr. John Ousterhout, who created the Tcl programming language, and the Tk toolkit. ALARMING NUMBER OF SPAM FALSE POSITIVES IN GMAIL Alarming number of spam false positives in Gmail. This morning, I was checking into some unfinished work on my side project, LiberWriter and noticed that I hadn’t seen several emails. This morning, I was checking into some unfinished work on my side project, LiberWriter and noticed that I hadn’t seen several emails. I checked in Gmail’s spam folder and found around 15 emails that had been dumped there, without anything obviously wrong with them.DEDASYS LLC
