DERBY FESTÉ UNVEILS SHOWCASE PERFORMANCES Tickets are now on sale for two special performances at this year’s Derby Festé on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September 2019. Dutch company, Close-Act Theatre, will make a welcome return to Festé on both evenings. ‘Malaya’ is a magnificent interactive outdoor theatre spectacular that will transform Bass’ Recreation Ground into a futuristic journey in time on Saturday evening.SPIRAL ARTS
Spiral Arts are two resident community artists, Jenny Anthony and Maureen Elliott, who are based in Derby Arboretum Park in the heart of Derby’s multicultural area, ARTS TRAIL – DERBY WELL-REDRESSED Deda, Chapel Street – Katie Doncaster and Kat Dodds – Forest in the City. Inspired by nature Katie and Kat have created a collection of 20 to 30 vertically-hanging silk banners, depicting a simple tree motif. Some are made of silk habotai and some of silk organza, to create a more transparent and give a more ethereal effect when distributed and overlaid amongst the habotai banners. SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH DERBY WITNESS Local LGBTQ+ poet, performer, producer and events coordinator, Dan Webber is creating a project called ‘Derby Witness’ and he is inviting members of local communities to get involved.FULL MOON PARADE

DERBY FESTE 2019 PRESENT MUSEUM OF THE MOON The four-strong cast portray a range of emotional and physical confrontations through circus-style acrobatics, trapeze and contemporary dance with the 90-strong audience seated around the centre stage – only a few spaces available so one definitely not to be missed!. There will only be four performances and tickets are very limited – only a small audience of 90 people per show. We caught up with Heather Gunn, marketing manager at Déda, to ask her a few questions about why she loves Derby Festé, read what she had to say: ARTS TRAIL – DERBY WELL-REDRESSED Deda, Chapel Street – Katie Doncaster and Kat Dodds – Forest in the City. Inspired by nature Katie and Kat have created a collection of 20 to 30 vertically-hanging silk banners, depicting a simple tree motif. Some are made of silk habotai and some of silk organza, to create a more transparent and give a more ethereal effect when distributed and overlaid amongst the habotai banners.
