But through a series of additional challenges - budget cuts, global elections, social unrest and injustices and natural disasters - the world of destination organizations has completely changed. Destinations International has made the case that relying merely on ROI numbers to defend the value and relevancy of a destination organization was no longer a viable advocacy strategy. Instead, we argued, destination organizations need to support the message of ROI in terms of dollars and cents with an emotional and value-based appeal to convince political leaders and community stakeholders PROFESSIONAL IN DESTINATION MANAGEMENT (PDM) CERTIFICATE The Professional in Destination Management (PDM) certificate program provides those new to the destination organization side of the industry (less than one year of experience) with cutting-edge education, offering entry-level personnel the critical skills and knowledge necessary to start their careers in the travel and tourismindustry.
