Dwengo is a young and dynamic non-profit organization founded in 2009 by six Belgian engineers who support everyone who starts with micro-controllers. By means of online tutorials, support and hands-on workshops, Dwengo started to reach out for schools in Belgium. Nowadays, Dwengo has internationally expanded its activities and wantsto reach
PROJECTS – DWENGO
At Dwengo we design innovative computer science workshops for students. We teach them how to build and program robots and we demystify the wonders of artificial intelligence. GRAPHICAL PROGRAMMING WITH ARDUBLOCK When you open ArduBlock you should see a graphical programming environment with an empty sketch in front and the available blocks on the left: By dragging a block from the left to the sketch you can program your Dwenguino. In the menu Dwenguino you can find the Dwenguino compatible blocks. Similar to the Arduino sketch, we startwith a program

It comes with extras such as sonar modules, temperature sensors and more. Thanks to the breakout cables you can connect these sensors without soldering! Follow our tutorials and use yourimagination
WEGOSTEM – BELGIUM & GREECE – DWENGO WeGoSTEM – Belgium & Greece. With the WeGoSTEM project thousands of pupils from the 5th and 6th grade discover their talent for science and technology. We challenge them to build and program a creative art robot that can draw independently. In this didactic workshop a lot of STEM skills are discussed, from technology to computational thinking. SERIAL COMMUNICATION: DWENGO & GNU OCTAVE Step 1: De-serializing data. On the Octave side we have to de-serialize the bytes we read from the serial port. The de-serialization just puts together two bytes into one uint16 integer (this is an Octave datatype, it stands for Unsigned INTeger 16bits). The following is a function that does the trick: DWENGUINO: A MULTI-FUNCTIONAL, ARDUINO COMPATIBLESEE MORE ONDWENGO.ORG
DWENGO BOARD
SKU: DBRD10. The Dwengo board is the ideal experiment board for young and old, for the beginning hobbyist or the more experienced electro technicus. This board is built around the popular PIC18F4550. This powerful microcontroller provides the board with the necessary computing power and contains many extras that can be easily addressed, such as

WeGoSTEM Belgium. With WeGoSTEM Belgium we will help 7500 children to build a robot at school between 3 and 24 October 2019. More info on the dedicated WeGoSTEM Belgium website. We will visit about 200 schools across Belgium (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels and the German speaking community). WEGOSTEM INFORMATION FOR VOLUNTEERS WeGoSTEM would not be possible without you and the about 800 other volunteers and partners. To prepare you for your workshop, we designed this e-learning kit. The materials presented here are for rehearsal purposes only. All the classroom materials you need will be deliveredto the schools.
AI IN THE CLASSROOM
AI in the classroom. KIKS is a STEM project on artificial intelligence for the third stage of secondary education (students aged 16-18). Students learn to understand AI, with possibilities and limitations; they learn how they can have an impact on it. The relationship between stomata of plants and climate change offers a unique framework to INTERNATIONAL ROBOT WEEK 0:00 / 4:23. Live. •. Dwengo is organising its first International Robot Week in October. We will bring 50 teenagers with different socio-economical backgrounds from all over the world together to build ArtBots: robots that produce art. We start at October 23th and close with an ArtBots exposition on Monday October 27th around lunch time. GETTING ACQUAINTED WITH DWENGUINO: INSTALLATION FOR Download the Dwenguino library. Install the Arduino IDE and open the Arduino IDE a first time. Search for an "Arduino" folder in your user home folder: My Documents on Windows, home folder on Mac and Linux. Make a new subfolder "hardware". Copy and paste the Dwenguino.zip file into this "hardware" folder and extract the library. GRAPHICAL PROGRAMMING WITH BLOCKLY After installing Blockly you should be able to see it in the Tools menu of the Arduino IDE. Click on DwenguinoBlockly to start the graphical programming environment. It is a good idea to connect the Dwenguino before starting DwenguinoBlockly and choose Tools > Board > Dwenguino and connect to the Dwenguino by selecting the correct port. COMMUNICATION THROUGH BLUETOOTH This can be done by running the following command. sudo bluez-simple-agent hci xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx. where is the number of your device (probably hci0) and xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is the address of the Dwengo bluetooth module. After a pause, this program should ask you for the pin code of the Dwengo bluetooth module.CERROBOTICS
In Salta, Argentina, due to low budget and geographical situation scholars have rarely access to the newest technology. The current curricula is not strong in science and if present, is taught from a purely theoretical perspective, generating ill-prepared students for a higher education in science or engineering.EXPANSION CONNECTOR
The Dwengo board can easily be connected to other components. This page gives an overview of all connectors and their functions. Servo1:3 pin connector for

OUR VISION
DEMYSTIFYING THE WONDERS OF ROBOTICS AND AI BY We develop innovative workshops and educational resources, and we provide them to students around the globe in collaboration with teachers and volunteers. Our train-the-trainer sessions enable them to bring our hands-on workshops to the students. Our core values are: * INNOVATION: we continue to develop new, original, hands-on STEM activities grounded in both engineering & educational research * GENDER GAP: we succeed in reaching as many girls and boys through our focus on gender-neutral activities * FOR EVERYONE: we actively reach out to socially-economically disadvantaged children and students * INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION: establishing a new global sustainable community of teachers and volunteers * IMPACT: our cost-efficient approach enables us to scale up all ourprojects

The strength of Dwengo lies in our international collaboration. Every year we launch new projects in different countries in the field of physical computing and robotics. In all these projects we bring in our expertise and didactical approach, but we also learn a lot from our local volunteers and teachers. This two-way collaboration has helped us to reach a unique position in the computer science landscape. We won the Google RISE award for our approach (twice). * Knowledge sharing and collaboration * International focus with projects on 4 continents * Young and old: children from the age of 8 to university students * Girls as well as boys: Dwengo reduces the gender gap * All our software and documentation is open sourceRECENT TUTORIALS
