#Publicación| ¿Cuáles son los impactos de la implementación de soluciones de infraestructura natural para la gestión de riesgos en los Andes? La gestión preventiva de los riesgos de inundación y erosión ha sido manejada principalmente por obras de infraestructura hidráulica gris, tales como diques o embalses, pero muestra ciertos límites en cuanto a su efectividad. Soluciones alternativas a la infraestructura hidráulica gris, como aquellas basadas en la naturaleza o infraestructura natural, son complementarias y están ganando interés a nivel global y, particularmente, en los Andes.Para poder evaluar el estado del conocimiento respecto al impacto de las intervenciones sobre la infraestructura natural en la erosión hídrica, los movimientos en masa de origen hídrico y las inundaciones en la región andina, se ha realizado una revisión sistemática de la literatura científica que incluye más de 137 estudios de casos locales, en la que se incluyen estudios que cuantificaron el efecto de la implementación de uno o más elementos de infraestructura natural con el propósito de mitigar la erosión del suelo o moderar los peligros de movimientos en masa o de inundaciones.Puedes descargarla en: www.forest-trends.org/publications/infraestructura-natural-para-la-gestion-de-riesgos-de-erosion-... #InfraestructuraNatural #GestióndeRiesgosdeDesastres#GRD

Gobierno Regional de Piura aprobó el expediente técnico del proyecto de inversión pública que busca recuperar el servicio ecosistémico de regulación hídrica de la margen derecha de la microcuenca Pusmalca, en la provincia de Huancabamba, con un monto total de inversión de más de S/. 6.5 millones.A través de este proyecto, 22 centros poblados de la microcuenca del río Pusmalca podrán beneficiarse con intervenciones en la infraestructura natural que contribuirán con mejorar la capacidad de retención de los suelos y mantener el flujo continuo y permanente de agua para uso poblacional, pecuario y agrícola. Para ello, se realizarán actividades de reforestación con especies nativas en 744 Ha, a fin de incrementar la cobertura forestal y aumentar la recarga de acuíferos cercanos. Se estima que el proyecto generará aproximadamente 41,189 jornales para los pobladores y contribuirá con reactivar la economía local.Los esfuerzos del Gobierno Regional de Piura, Consejo de Recursos Hídricos de Cuenca Chira Piura y el apoyo técnico de CONDESAN a través del proyecto Infraestructura Natural para la Seguridad Hídrica, han hecho posible que se apruebe este importante proyecto que tiene un plazo de ejecución de cinco años.El proyecto, se encuentra programado para que inicie ejecución física en el 2022, no obstante, el Gobierno Regional de Piura está gestionando un adelanto de la ejecución, para este año, debido a las necesidades de atención de la zona frente a los deslizamientos recientemente ocurridos. #Reportaje | Nos complace compartir el reportaje publicado en la BBC por la periodista Erica Gies, quien nos acompañó el año pasado a las comunidades de Carampoma y Huamantanga (cuenca alta de Lima). Su libro sobre aguas lentas, "Water Always Wins", será publicado en Norteamérica por University of Chicago Press y en el Reino Unido por Head of Zeus."A medida que el cambio climático trae cambios hídricos en todo el mundo, las estructuras convencionales de control del agua están fallando cada vez más. Tales intervenciones humanas tienden a confinar el agua y acelerarla, borrando las fases naturales cuando el agua se estanca en la tierra. Las soluciones basadas en la naturaleza, por otro lado, hacen espacio y tiempo para estas fases lentas. Al investigar mi próximo libro sobre el tema , he llegado a pensar en ellos como "agua lenta". Al igual que el movimiento de comida lenta (slow food), los enfoques de agua lenta están hechos a medida: trabajan con paisajes, climas y culturas locales en lugar de intentar controlarlos o cambiarlos. También brindan muchos otros beneficios, incluido el almacenamiento de carbono y hogares para plantas y animales amenazados" escribe Erica en su reportaje."Una de las cosas más notables de las amunas es que los comuneros saben qué canal alimenta qué manantial, lo que significa que entienden el camino que toma el agua bajo tierra. Las entrevistas del coautor Pérez con la población local documentaron este conocimiento, que se había transmitido de generación en generación. Los habitantes de las zonas urbanas tienden a descartar la experiencia de los pueblos indígenas y rurales, dice Ochoa-Tocachi, pero los investigadores pudieron verificar su información como "muy precisa" al agregar trazadores a los flujos de amunas y luego usar detectores sensibles para rastrear la aparición de esas moléculas en los estanques alimentados por manantiales. Este hallazgo "nos sorprendió", dice Ochoa-Tocachi. "Demuestra que podemos utilizar el conocimiento indígena para complementar la ciencia moderna y brindar soluciones a los problemas actuales" destaca Erica en su artículo.
