RECIPE FOR GIANT BUBBLE SOLUTION So yesterday, I finally mixed up some bubble solution for the boys. To make our giant bubble solution, I mixed: 6 cups of water. 1/2 cup of dishwashing liquid. 2 Tablespoons of glycerin. For best results, let you bubble solution sit before using. 24 hours is recommended. I let mine sit for about 3 hours, and we still had good results! 25 AWESOME PROJECTS FOR TWEEN AND TEEN BOYS (AGES 10 AND The Great Outdoors. Build a Rocket Stove – cook real food with only twigs for fuel! This is a project that requires adult help, but it’s a pretty cool little cook stove made out of tin cans. SIX INDOOR ACTIVE GAMES FOR PRESCHOOLERS Nothing beats playing outside, but sometimes the weather just doesn’t allow for outdoor play. Here are some ways that preschoolers can be active indoors – without harming themselves or your furniture! 🙂 Game #1: Masking Tape Race Lane Make a masking tape “lane” on the floor. The boys enjoyed running down the lane andhopping

During game play, if a player rolls a number that they do not need (because that card is already flipped over), it will go to the next person who needs it, going clockwise 50 RIDDLES AND BRAIN TEASERS FOR KIDS These riddles and brain teasers for kids are perfect for an icebreaker at the beginning of a class, for keeping kids busy on a road trip, or trying to stump each other at a family game night! Then cut the DOTTED LINES inside the rectangle. I labeled the legs, head, body, and tail for your benefit, but you don’t need to do that, obviously! Cut out your horse asshown.
SOUND SCIENCE FOR KIDS: MAKE A CRAFT STICK HARMONICA To make one, you will need: Cut two pieces of straw that are 1 – 1 .5 inches long. Stretch the thick rubber band around one of the craft sticks. Place one of the straws under the rubber band. Put the other craft stick on top and attach them with one of the small rubber band on the same end as the straw. CRUSHING CANS SCIENCE EXPERIMENT Tongs. Two bowls. Ice. Grab two soda cans. Put a small amount of water in each can. You just need enough to cover the bottom of the can (about a half inch of water). EASY SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS WITH MOMENTUM Lately, I’ve been doing a unit on physics with my boys that I prepared years ago when I taught science classes for homeschoolers. Of all the physics experiments we did, these ones on momentum are some of my favorites! Momentum is a fairly easy concept for kids to grasp. SIDEWALK CHALK MATH GAMES This game is a fun way to make subtraction very visual and concrete. First, write a subtraction sentence on the sidewalk. Then draw a corresponding number of chalk circles. Now it’s time to subtract! Use a water gun to wash away the amount of circles that are being taken away. It’s easy to CRUSHING CANS SCIENCE EXPERIMENT Tongs. Two bowls. Ice. Grab two soda cans. Put a small amount of water in each can. You just need enough to cover the bottom of the can (about a half inch of water). If you use a lot of water, it will take longer to boil, and the experiment won’t be as impressive. Set the cans in your frying pan, and heat over high heat until the waterboils.
HOW TO PLAY BLITZ (THIRTY ONE) Deal three cards to each player. Place the remaining cards in a pile face down on the table. The goal of Blitz is to collect three cards of the same suit that add up to 31, or as close as possible to 31 without going over. The player to the left of the dealer draws a card from the top of the pile. Step 3: Take a second pipe cleaner and wrap it LEGO ADDITION MATS PRINTABLE MATH ACTIVITY LEGO® + Math = Fun! Here’s a great way to work on addition with a fun LEGO® twist. Print these LEGO® addition mats at the bottom of the post. Math doesn’t seem like work when you add LEGO® bricks! (I have another printable mat coming for LEGO® multiplication, so stay tuned for that one as MAKE A PAPER HORSE THAT WALKS! Use a metric ruler to draw the shape below. Start with a rectangle that is 15 cm by 4.5 cm. Then divide it up as shown. Cut around the perimeter of the rectangle. Then cut the DOTTED LINES inside the rectangle. I labeled the legs, head, body, and tail for your benefit, but you don’t need to do that, obviously! Cut out your horse asshown.

Place one of the straws under the rubber band. Put the other craft stick on top and attach them with one of the small rubber band on the same end as the straw. Well, since we have MANY pipettes leftover from a science lab day, I thought we’d try it!It worked really well for the big kids! (The little boys couldn’t remember which end to blow on) To do this, trim off the squeezing end of the pipette, and then dip that end in the bubble solution.
