The map below assesses the state-level impacts on the U.S. trucking industry by four equipment types – dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and FTR REPORTS NA CLASS 8 NET ORDERS FOR DECEMBER CONTINUED FTR reports preliminary North American Class 8 net orders for December continued at an extremely high level at 52,100 units. December 2020 order activity was the fourth-highest ever and just 700 units fewer than November, up 169% over a year ago. Class 8 orders for 2020 totaled 283,000 units. The industry has soaring momentum rolling into2021
CLASS 8 TRUCK ORDERS Preliminary North American Class 8 net orders for April were 34,600 units, continuing to exhibit strength above normal trends. It was the best April order activity since 2018. Orders were down 15% m/m but 30,500 units above April 2020. Class 8 orders now total 403,000 units for the previous 12 months. Freight growth remains sturdy, and fleets TRUCKING CONDITIONS INDEX Trucking Conditions Index for March Surges to Record High Reading. Trucking Conditions Index (TCI) for March, as reported in the May Trucking Update, surged to a record high reading of 16.27, up about five points from February.
