WOOL - FULL BELLY FARM Wool for Sale Organic Wool Yarn Full Belly yarn is from our organically raised sheep. The colors are all natural with the wonderful softness coming from the blend of our breeds. We raise Rambouillet, Lincoln, Suffolk, and Merino sheep. No toxic dyes have been used. The yarn is washed and spun at Green Mountain SpinnerySTIR FRIED JOI CHOI
instructions. Trim the end off the joi choi, separate the leaves and rinse them clean. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan, add the garlic and the ginger and simmer for a few moments. Add the joi choi leaves and toss them to coat each leaf with the oil. Increase the heat and continue tossing until the leaves are wilted -JOIN OUR CSA

BEET AND BUTTERMILK SOUP When the beets cool down, peel them. Cut the beets into quarters and put them, the roasted garlic and 1-1/2 cups of the buttermilk into a blender. Puree until smooth. Add the remaining buttermilk, most of the herbs and the vinegar and purée again. Season with salt and pepper. PAN FRIED POTATOES WITH HERBS Cut the potatoes into 1/2 inch coins. Combine all of the finely chopped herbs in a small bowl. Heat the butter or olive oil in a saute pan over medium high heat, and add the herbs. Fry the herbs until fragrant, then add the potatoes. Cook until the potatoes arethoroughly
BEETS WITH A CREAMY YOGURT DILL SAUCE In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix together all of the ingredients except for the beets. Add a good pinch of salt, taste, and adjust the salt and the lemon juice if needed. We like ours very lemon-y! At this point you can either mix this yogurt sauce into the beets (which will turn everything into a lovely shade of fluorescent pink) or spoon COLE SLAW WITH WASABI DRESSING instructions. Make the dressing by mixing together the lime juice and wasabi in a large bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Add all the vegetables and toss with the dressing, and then mix in the sesame seeds. Taste and add more lime juice if needed.FULL BELLY FARM

Your CSA flowers this week are a mixed bouquet of Broom Corn, Celosia & Globe Amaranth. Note: Please do not take flowers unless you have ordered them as an add-on to your CSA box. The flowers at your pick-up site are only for people who have flowers listed for CRISPY PAN-FRIED POTATOES Drain the potatoes, spread them on a baking sheet, and allow them to cool to room temperature. Heat a large, cast iron skillet over medium to high heat and add 1/2 of your cooking fat of choice. When the fat is hot, carefully add the potatoes to the pan in one layer. Try to resist touching them until they begin to brown and loosen from thepan.

GETTING APHIDS OFF YOUR GREENS They don’t come off with a simple rinse in water because they adhere to the surface of the plants. So you have to swish them around in cold water that has a pinch of salt (or a drop of soap) in it. The salt or soap act to reduce the surface tension between the aphids and the leaf. Add the parsley, mint, onion, beans, lemon, allspice olive oil, 3/4 teaspoon salt BEET AND BUTTERMILK SOUP When the beets cool down, peel them. Cut the beets into quarters and put them, the roasted garlic and 1-1/2 cups of the buttermilk into a blender. Puree until smooth. Add the remaining buttermilk, most of the herbs and the vinegar and purée again. Season with salt and pepper. PAN FRIED POTATOES WITH HERBS Cut the potatoes into 1/2 inch coins. Combine all of the finely chopped herbs in a small bowl. Heat the butter or olive oil in a saute pan over medium high heat, and add the herbs. Fry the herbs until fragrant, then add the potatoes. Cook until the potatoes arethoroughly
BEETS WITH A CREAMY YOGURT DILL SAUCE In a medium sized mixing bowl, mix together all of the ingredients except for the beets. Add a good pinch of salt, taste, and adjust the salt and the lemon juice if needed. We like ours very lemon-y! At this point you can either mix this yogurt sauce into the beets (which will turn everything into a lovely shade of fluorescent pink) or spoonNAPA CABBAGE SLAW

COLE SLAW WITH WASABI DRESSING instructions. Make the dressing by mixing together the lime juice and wasabi in a large bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Heat the oven to 400°. Toss the Chile halves and the garlic in 2 tablespoons of oil and spread them out on a foil lined baking sheet.
