WHAT IS GEOMORPHOLOGY? 10 Reasons why geomorphology is important The BSG has put together a short booklet which highlights what geomorphology is, what geomorphologists do and why geomorphlogy is so important as a discipline. It is called '10 reasons why Geomorphology is important'. This resource is free to download and use for teaching and outreach purposes. Access a PDF version for download and printing here. HISTORY | BRITISH SOCIETY FOR GEOMORPHOLOGY The origins of the BSG can be traced to a meeting in Sheffield in 1958 where British geomorphologists gathered together to organise a Landform Survey of Britain. By 1959 this group appears to have been referring to itself as the British Universities Geomorphological Research Group. This short-lived group agreed, at its second annual meeting, to disband itself and voted unanimously (all 19 ofAPPLIED SCIENCE

HISTORY | BRITISH SOCIETY FOR GEOMORPHOLOGY The origins of the BSG can be traced to a meeting in Sheffield in 1958 where British geomorphologists gathered together to organise a Landform Survey of Britain. By 1959 this group appears to have been referring to itself as the British Universities Geomorphological Research Group. This short-lived group agreed, at its second annual meeting, to disband itself and voted unanimously (all 19 of EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES The British Society for Geomorphology members and geomorphologists around the world have produced educational materials for students, and enthusiasts, of all ages.
