Symphony is an XSLT-powered open source content management system“PARAMETERS”
Overview. Parameters are attribute-value pairs that are made available to your Symphony project’s front end pages. They allow dynamically-set values to be channeled through the system for use by data sources or in the templating layer. Parameters are commonly used to filter data sources using dynamic values or to access contextual information (like the current date) from within page templates. “URL PARAMETERS” Overview. URL Parameters are parameters whose values are set dynamically in a page’s URL, and can be accessed by its template and its data sources. This makes pages incredibly dynamic, enabling a single page to power an endless number of views. This very page, for example, sets a parameter in the last bit of its URL (url-parameters), which is then used to filter a data source that fetches the“DATA SOURCES”
Data sources are the pipelines that deliver content to your Symphony project’s front-end interface. This can be internal content (e.g. data pulled directly from your sections) or external content (e.g. data from an RSS feed or an XML API). Data sources are attached to pages, and the XML they provide can be transformed by page templates. “ADMIN INTERFACE” The admin interface, often referred to as the “back end,” is a Symphony project’s primary control panel. Once logged in, authors can use the admin interface to set up and configure a project, manage its structure and content, install extensions, and perform othertasks.
“INSERTING IMAGES” If I need to do that I generally just give-in and use the Redactor extension, let them treat that section as a WYSIWYG and put up with the garbled code it vomits into my websites. It's at least in a language the client understands, as it were. The above tip from @cotiunix is good though, I didn't know that was possible myself. “HTML5 DOCTYPE”
Unfortunately, there is no indenting. It seems method="html" defaults to returns, but no indenting. But using method="xml" does output with indenting, however, there is an empty attribute string for the missing doctype-system attribute.. Nick Dunn advocated the polyglot compatible HTML5 doctype. This approach would output the doctype legacy string, as advocated by the W3C for legacy systems. “GET THE NAME OF A NODE” The functions name () and local-name return item when called and the function node-name () is not supported in XSLT 1.0. I have this XML (see attachement) and I want to recursively loop from. //page //page to the first / node from the set. I think the only way would be to add an attribute to every node “INSERTING IMAGES” If I need to do that I generally just give-in and use the Redactor extension, let them treat that section as a WYSIWYG and put up with the garbled code it vomits into my websites. It's at least in a language the client understands, as it were. The above tip from @cotiunix is good though, I didn't know that was possible myself.
