OUR BEES | GREENSGROW Our Bees. We keep our hives bees on a lot across from the farm. The hives are not accessible to the public because they do sting on occasion. On a sunny day, you will see them drinking from the pond, gathering pollen from the flowers in the garden center and in our gardens around the farm and doing their work, pollinating inside thehigh tunnels.

We keep our hives bees on a lot across from the farm. The hives are not accessible to the public because they do sting on occasion. SOIL CONTAMINATION & REMEDIATION Soil contamination is caused by the presence of man made chemical alterations in naked ground. This type of contamination typically results from the rupture of underground storage tanks, application of pesticides, percolation of contaminated surface water, oil and fuel dumping, leaching of wastes from landfills or direct discharge of industrial wastes to the soil. Today we still focus most of our growing on greens. We focus on crops that can be grown quickly and intensively that are in high demand; lettuces, salad mixes, Asian greens, kale,chard, etc.

WHAT'S GROWING __
We have had our first frosts and the very first snow flurries of the season. That means that the root vegetables we are harvesting will be a little sweeter than usual as a cold snap converts some of thestarches to sugar.
The cover crop has grown taller, lush and green; it hasn’t taken a sustained hard freeze yet. There are lots daikon radishes throughout the mixture. Their long roots are working for us, improving the soil structure by breaking up compaction.Learn More
