Things to Do. With so many things to do at Ijams, you'll never be bored! From hiking the trails and playing at Jo's Grove to paddling at Mead's Quarry Lake and working out at the Ijams Primal Playground, there's something for everyone at Ijams. The grounds are open from 8 am to dusk every day.CAMPS | IJAMS

Located minutes from downtown Knoxville on 315 acres of beautiful woodlands with nature trails, winding creeks, forests, meadows, and ponds, Ijams Nature Center offers a wonderful setting for day camps. Ijams camps connect children to nature and history through a variety of activities led by staff who love to teach and recreateoutdoors.

For many folks, Ijams is synonymous with water. Whether it’s cooling off in Toll Creek, exploring Mead’s Quarry Lake by boat, or taking in the scenic view of the Tennessee River, visitors have been enjoying the waterscapes of Ijams for decades. NATURE ADVENTURE CAMP The weekly fee for each session of Ijams Nature Adventure Camp is $260 if registering online or $275 if registering in person or by phone. In 2021, Ijams also is offering two summer sessions of Branching Out!, which provides campers with opportunities to explore Navitat’s tree-based adventure park. IJAMS RIVER RESCUE 2021: HOWE PARK The 2021 Ijams River Rescue presented by TVA is an annual communitywide event that focuses on cleanup sites along the Tennessee River and its tributaries. Each year, between 600-800 volunteers spend several hours removing tons of trash from these areas. Volunteers may come as individuals or in a group, such as families, friends, corporate teams, scout troops or church groups. MEMBERSHIP & DONATIONS Friends of Ijams – $100-$499. To become a member or make a donation now, please use Ijams Nature Center’s secure online donation page. TAKE ACTION WILDLIFE REHAB COLLECTION Ijams receives numerous calls every year about sick, injured, or orphaned animals in this region, and wildlife rehabilitators come to the rescue! Wildlife rehabilitators open their homes to care for birds, mammals, reptiles, and more. Their work helps baby and injured creatures heal, grow, and hopefully be released back into the wild.
