NEBULIZERS, SPRAY CHAMBERS AND TORCHES Nebulizers Pneumatic Nebulizers. The term "pneumatic" is defined as 'of or relating to or using air or a similar gas'. The word "nebulizer" is derived from the Latin "nebula" meaning mist and is defined as 'an instrument for converting a liquid into a fine spray'. COMMON PROBLEMS WITH HG, AU, SI, OS AND NA Mercury (Hg) A common problem with Hg is stability. For an overview of Hg stability please our article entitled Mercury Chemical Stability. In March of 2003, the EPA published a bulletin describing the use of Au to stabilize Hg solutions: Mercury Preservation Techniques. When working at the ppb level we have found that using HCl rather than nitric acid will maintain the stability of Hg +2 ANION CALIBRATION STANDARD, 125 ML Our Guarantee. Solutions that are neutral or alkaline will ppt. BaCO 3 (solubility 0.0024 g/100g H 2 O).. Samples containing Ba and sulfur compounds may form BaSO4 in oxidative decompositions. ISO 17034, 17025, AND 9001 EXPLAINED We've entered an age when quality has become imperative in the arena of high tech industry. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has provided a level playing field for all manufacturers to officially state the quality of their products and business practices. ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and ISO 17034 are the three most valuable credentials for standard manufacturers. ICP-OES MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY Fearing this may not be the best approach, Damon sought Paul's advice on the measurement uncertainty associated with ICP. The measurement uncertainty is 2 (SD)/1.716, where SD is the standard deviation. The 2 is referred to as the coverage factor and the 1.716 SHELF LIFE VS. EXPIRATION DATE OF A CHEMICAL STANDARD The Facts. FACT: Shelf Life does NOT mean expiration date. FACT: A standard's expiration date should never exceed 1 year. FACT: A standard's expiration date and shelf life are two entirely different entities. Chemical stability is only one of many factors involved in defining expiration date and shelf life. This article provides you, the consumer, with the best definitions for shelf life and COMPARE ICP-OES AND XRF FOR DETERMINATION OF METAL Using the lithium borate fusion-dissolution in dilute nitric acid (matrix matched at this point) and using lines that do not spectrally interfere, the ICP-OES technique can do this while XRF cannot. With XRF, the analyst is stuck making corrections that contain a level of uncertainty. In short, I would choose ICP-OES over ICP-MS and XRFbecause

LATEST NEWS & EVENTS WHAT ARE PH BUFFERS? Posted: April 13, 2021 PH buffers are special solutions which prevent large variations in pH levels. Every pH level produced has a specified buffer capacity and buffer range. The capacity of the buffer refers to the amount of acid or base which can be added before the pH alters substantially. It may also be characterized as the level of strong acid or base that needs to be added to alter the pH of a liter of solution by one pH unit. The buffer range is the pH range where a buffer can effectively neutralize added acids and bases whilst maintaining a steady pH. This is critical for processes or reactions which need specific and stablepH ranges.
USING PH BUFFERS TO ACHIEVE ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS All experienced chemists will be extremely confident with the idea of pH value. The pH value of a substance pertains to the negative logarithm of hydrogen ion activity. Sometimes this is known as the potential of hydrogen in an aqueous solution. The pH of a solution is on a scale of 0-14 and isRead More__
THE BASICS OF WAVELENGTH CALIBRATION IN GENERAL SPECTROSCOPY Posted: March 24, 2021 Over time, spectrometers will naturally drift due to environmental effects and influences. This is a common issue that can easily be addressed by regular wavelength calibration which helps to ensure reliable and accurate spectroscopic results. HOW IS WAVELENGTH CALIBRATION PERFORMED? Wavelength calibration of a spectrometer is performed by scanning through grating angles and measuring spectrum with wavelengths which are already known. The measured wavelength and the known wavelength can be compared and the drift can be found. The standard method for wavelength calibration is the peak method, which is used for the calibration of push-broom imaging spectrometers by recording the digital number values of wavelengths and the Gaussian fitting of the wavelengths which results in the pixel center wavelength being found by calculating the highest response. Many factors can affect the measurement, meaning the wavelength calibration process must correctRead More__
