It has been depicted as a major symbol of power and authority in the culture and beliefs of many indigenous Americans. Sloth Mamma Mia. Mama Mia is a two-finger sloth (Choloepus hoffmanni) who arrived at the center in 2016 due to electrocution. She came with her daughter attached to her belly who unfortunately got injured in one of her arms. One litter can go from two to six babies and the gestation lasts about 65 days. If they are younger than one year and the mother is nowhere near to be found they won’t survive without her.
