FETCH - JAVASCRIPT
Please note, if the request body is a string, then Content-Type header is set to text/plain;charset=UTF-8 by default.. But, as we’re going to send JSON, we use headers option to send application/json instead, the correct Content-Type for JSON-encoded data.. Sending an image. We can also submit binary data with fetch using Blob or BufferSource objects.. In this example, there’s aFILE AND FILEREADER
FileReader. FileReader is an object with the sole purpose of reading data from Blob (and hence File too) objects. It delivers the data using events, as reading from disk may take time. The constructor: let reader = new FileReader(); The main methods: readAsArrayBuffer (blob) – read the data in binary format ArrayBuffer. FORMDATA - JAVASCRIPT FormData objects are used to capture HTML form and submit it using fetch or another network method. We can either create new FormData (form) from an HTML form, or create a object without a form at all, and then append fields with methods: formData.append (name, value) formData.append (name, blob, fileName)ASYNC/AWAIT
To declare an async class method, just prepend it with async: class Waiter { async wait() { return await Promise.resolve(1); } } new Waiter() .wait() .then( alert); The meaning is the same: it ensures that the returned value is a promise and enables await.CAPTURING GROUPS
Capturing groups. A part of a pattern can be enclosed in parentheses (). This is called a “capturing group”. That has two effects: It allows to get a part of the match as a separate item in the result array. If we put a quantifier after the parentheses, it applies to the parentheses as a whole.LONG POLLING
Long polling. So-called “long polling” is a much better way to poll the server. It’s also very easy to implement, and delivers messages without delays. The flow: A request is sent to the server. The server doesn’t close the connection until it has a message to send. When a message appears – the server responds to the requestwith it.
FETCH: CROSS-ORIGIN REQUESTS Fetch fails, as expected. The core concept here is origin – a domain/port/protocol triplet. Cross-origin requests – those sent to another domain (even a subdomain) or protocol or port – require special headers from the remote side. That policy is called “CORS”: Cross-Origin Resource Sharing. ERROR HANDLING WITH PROMISES As you can see, the .catch doesn’t have to be immediate. It may appear after one or maybe several .then.. Or, maybe, everything is all right with the site, but the response is not valid JSON. FILE AND FILEREADER
FileReader. FileReader is an object with the sole purpose of reading data from Blob (and hence File too) objects. It delivers the data using events, as reading from disk may take time. The constructor: let reader = new FileReader(); The main methods: readAsArrayBuffer (blob) – read the data in binary format ArrayBuffer.BLOB - JAVASCRIPT
Blob. ArrayBuffer and views are a part of ECMA standard, a part of JavaScript. In the browser, there are additional higher-level objects, described in File API, in particular Blob. Blob consists of an optional string type (a MIME-type usually), plus blobParts – a sequence of other Blob objects, strings and BufferSource. BUBBLING AND CAPTURING event.target. A handler on a parent element can always get the details about where it actually happened. The most deeply nested element that caused the event is called a target element, accessible as event.target.. Note the differences from this (=event.currentTarget):. event.target – is the “target” element that initiated the event, it doesn’t change through the bubbling process. WEBSOCKET - JAVASCRIPT The WebSocket protocol, described in the specification RFC 6455 provides a way to exchange data between browser and server via a persistent connection. The data can be passed in both directions as “packets”, without breaking the connection and additional HTTP-requests. WebSocket is especially great for services that require continuous data exchange, e.g. online games, real-timeCSS-ANIMATIONS
We moved the y coordinate of the 2nd point below zero, and for the 3rd point we made it over 1, so the curve goes out of the “regular” quadrant. The y is out of the “standard” range 0..1.. As we know, y measures “the completion of the animation process”. The value y = 0 corresponds to the starting property value and y = 1 – the endingvalue. So values y
