JESUIT SOCIAL SERVICES The Ecological Justice Hub is a permaculture garden dedicated to both social and environmental justice, restoring our relationship with nature and each other. It helps build knowledge and skills through practical ‘hands on’ projects, to strengthen environmental protection and what this means in practice in our homes and incommunities.

We work to improve community safety and help those leaving prison reconnect with community in a positive way through skill development and employment opportunities. JESUIT SOCIAL SERVICES The Ignatius Learning Centre is a safe, holistic and therapeutic learning environment for a small number of young people who have a positive attitude towards getting their lives back on track. The school promotes the development of the whole person - including intellectual, physical, social, emotional, cultural and spiritual elements of each young person. We offer roles in diverse fields spanning social work (such as counselling and outreach), community development, administration and business support, hospitality, marketing and communications, and fundraising. Before joining Jesuit Social Services, Susie was Associate Professor in Sustainability and Urban Planning in the School of Global Urban and Social Studies JESUIT SOCIAL SERVICES During the pandemic, the lack of protections for casual workers – who are often forced to work multiple jobs to make ends meet, and in situations where not attending work means foregoing pay – was rightly viewed as problematic from a public health perspective. Family Systems Theory Traditional individual therapy tends to focus on problems in a linear manner, that is, 'event' A caused 'problem' B. The history of the problem is explored, in order to understand what has caused the problem and identify what is needed (deficit) in order for a person to move forward. Our research found that men in the Man Box experience negative life outcomes themselves and they’re more likely to engage in behaviour that harms JESUIT SOCIAL SERVICES Building and delivering effective interventions. We develop innovative programs that intervene early to address the underlying drivers of violent and other harmful behaviours, ensure accountability for actions, and restore relationships. The minimum age of criminal responsibility across all Australian jurisdictions is 10, despite extensive scientific evidence the brains of children under 12 are not adequately developed for them to be criminally responsible.
