The last couple of weeks in NYC the streets have been filled with spring flowers. The other day I ran across this large bunch on Central Park and it especially caught my eye because of the ONE lone redtulip.
WHAT IS MUSHROOM COFFEE? What is Mushroom Coffee? Lately I have cooking burnout! GASP! Hey, it can happen to anyone! SO, I have been ordering in more and more! Trust me, I don’t think this is what we should always do – BUT sometimes it is what is. AND when that is the case we can still make the best of it. It is hard for me to believe that it’s been around a year that COVID-19 has been part of our lives. I don’t know about you but I remember my last dinner in a restaurant with friends and I know exactly what I did the day before NYC locked down. HOW TO REDUCE FOOD WASTE! How to Reduce Food Waste! I recently taped an episode on The Keri Report podcast titled, “How to Reduce Food Waste, Once and For ALL!”. Sharing anything related to food waste and environmental issues on any of my platforms is relatively something new for me, but something that I feel I should now embrace (Hello my 3grandchildren!).

Typically I suggest that I bring one and typically my hosts are overjoyed at my suggestion. Recently eggs made the headlines again and not in a very positive light. It appears a new study was released that said eating eggs (the yolks that is) regularly does raise cholesterol levels and increases one’s risk for heart disease! OUCH! SAY GOODBYE TO SUMMER BLOATING! The Best Way To Do A Summer Detox, According To Nutritionists – NBCBetter.com. Ahhhhh – DETOX. A word that never seems to go away. I swear I think I’m getting the start of grey hair (or silver highlights as my hairdresser would say!) from the angst this wordcauses me.

I hate kale and sweet potatoes, but I love Brussels sprouts and French fries. I practice yoga by day and enjoy martinis at night. I have been a registered dietitian nutritionist for over twenty years and I love what I do. My philosophy in nutrition is quite simple. I don’t believe in good or bad foods, just in foods that are better for you than others, and in those that we should consume more of. Honestly, I believe that all foods can fit into a well balanced diet. It is just learning about that balance that is most important. Deprivation is not part of myvocabulary.
