Hamilton, is a complex remembrance of black histories.This plurality is to emphasize the fact that the land now known as Canada embodies multiple sites of black history, including the very area in which the exhibition takes place—Chatham-Kent, Ontario. TOKYO-YOKOSUKA 1976–1983 Greg Girard’s photographs from Tokyo-Yokosuka 1976–1983 are artifacts of a pre-bubble Tokyo, before it acquired imaginative shape as the late 20 th Century’s default for a 21 st Century city. Television, cinema, newspapers and magazines were the prevailing outlets for information and entertainment. The US Seventh Fleet, based in nearby Yokosuka, was a reminder of the late Cold War FLASH FORWARD COMPETITION Flash Forward 2019 will be an emerging photographers competition for ALL photographers (34 years-of-age or under, as of December 31, 2018), from all over the world in all forms of photography. It will have something for everyone in all ways the medium is represented today SELF & OTHERS: PORTRAIT AS AUTOBIOGRAPHY BY ALINE SMITHSON Self & Others: Portrait as Autobiography is an almost 20 year culmination of portrait photographs captured by award-winning photographer Aline Smithson.. Beginning with her early forays into black and white work, produced as darkroom silver gelatin prints, she photographed the world around her considering the poignancy of childhood and the pathos of aging and relationships.
