FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT LESSONS Classroom Challenges are lessons that support teachers in formative assessment. There are 100 lessons in total, 20 at each grade from 6 to 8 and 40 for ‘Career and College Readiness’ at High School Grades 9 and above. Some lessons are focused on developing math concepts, others on
FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT LESSONS FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT LESSONS MP1: Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. MP2: Reason abstractly and quantitatively. MP3: Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. MP4: Model with mathematics. MP5: Use appropriate tools strategically. MP6: Attend to precision. MP7: Look for and make use of structure. MP8: Look for and expressregularity
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT TASKS The task types indicate the breadth and depth of CCSS mathematical practices assessed by the task.Novice tasks involve only MP2 and MP6 and do so at a low level. Apprentice tasks add MP3 and MP7 but, because of the guidance within the task, do so at a comparatively modest level. Expert tasks aim to cover the full range of practices.. Some lessons are focused on developing math concepts, others on
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT TASKS The task types indicate the breadth and depth of CCSS mathematical practices assessed by the task.Novice tasks involve only MP2 and MP6 and do so at a low level. Apprentice tasks add MP3 and MP7 but, because of the guidance within the task, do so at a comparatively modest level. Expert tasks aim to cover the full range of practices.. MARS: BALANCED ASSESSMENT IN MATHEMATICS MARS designed the Balanced Assessment in Mathematics (BAM) tests as a supplement for state tests. Many of the tasks have been incorporated into CTB's Acuity materials . Tests can be licensed by school districts, states or research projects from Shell Centre Publications . FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT LESSONS This lesson involves a range of mathematical practices from the standards, with emphasis on: MP1: Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. MP2: Reason abstractly and quantitatively. MP3: Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT LESSONS Mathematical goals. This lesson unit is intended to assess students’ understanding of the four quadrants of the coordinate plane, while at the same time introducing them to a mathematical understanding of slope. The task helps students to link their intuitive understandings of steepness to a more precise, calculated measure of slope. MATHEMATICAL PRACTICES Using the menu on the left, you can browse the CCSSM Standards for Mathematical Practice and Standards for Mathematical Content.
