THE MILAN PACT
The Milan Urban Food Policy Pact was signed on the 15 October 2015 in Milan by more than 100 cities. It represents one of the most important legacies of Milan EXPO 2015. The Milan Urban Food Policy Pact is an international agreement of Mayors. It is more than a declaration, it is a concrete working tool for cities. MILAN PACT AWARDS 2020 Milan Pact Awards 2020. The City of Milan and the Cariplo Foundation are proud to announce the “Milan Pact Talks”, a special edition of the Milan Pact Awards. The purpose of the Milan Pact Awards is to recognize innovation and stimulate good practices exchange among MUFPP signatory cities, towards more sustainable food systems. ABOUT - FOODTRAILS - MILAN URBAN FOOD POLICY PACT Food Trails is an EU-funded, Horizon2020 project. Create a space of debate among impact financing actors and cities on the economic sustainability of food policies; Promote the systemic framework of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact among cities committed to improve theirfood systems.
KAZAN 2021 - MILAN URBAN FOOD POLICY PACT On 1-3 June 2021, Kazan hosted the International Forum titled “Healthy Cities. Healthy Nutrition for Сhildren”, the first Regional Forum in Eurasia&South West Asia of the Milan Urban FoodPolicy Pact.
FOODTRAILS - MILAN URBAN FOOD POLICY PACT Food Trails is a four-year EU-funded Horizon 2020 project aiming to translate in Europe the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact’s collective commitment to integrated urban food policies into measurable and long-term progress towards sustainable food systems. 11 European cities, with universities and stakeholders, will co-design pilot actions as leverage points for FOOD 2030 urban food policies CITIES - FOODTRAILS - MILAN URBAN FOOD POLICY PACT Greece. Once a great city of the Eastern Roman Empire, Thessaloniki is now a gateway to mainland Greece, the country’s second-largest city and a culinary capital. The 4th Regional Forum of the MUFPP in Africa has been hosted by the city of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on 15-18 February, 2021. Those four days of exchanges and meetings saw the participation of more than 70 people online and about 50 people in person in Ouagadougou.Representatives from 25 MUFPP cities took part to the event, 22 of which were African and 3 European. FOODTRAILS - MILAN URBAN FOOD POLICY PACT Food Trails is a four-year EU-funded Horizon 2020 project aiming to translate in Europe the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact’s collective commitment to integrated urban food policies into measurable and long-term progress towards sustainable food systems. 11 European cities, with universities and stakeholders, will co-design pilot actions as leverage points for FOOD 2030 urban food policiesMILAN FOOD POLICY
FOOD WASTE REDUCTION The City of Milan developed in 2015 the Milan Food Policy that acts on the urban food system with a multidimensional approach around 5 key priorities, 16 guidelines, 18 actionos: MORE THAN 100 CITIES SIGNED THE MILAN URBAN FOOD POLICY On 15 October 2015 113 cities signed the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact, the first covenant among Mayors on Urban Food Policies. Mayors simultaneously signed the document on tablets, at Palazzo Reale, in the Hall of Cariatidi. “Today, at the presence of metropolises from all over the world that are home to 400 million people, we have achieved an ambitious goal: a commitment for the CITIES - FOODTRAILS - MILAN URBAN FOOD POLICY PACT Greece.
