The Framework was adopted in 2011 as the culmination of more than six years of work by the MCA, University of Queensland Sustainable Minerals Institute and industry to develop a common industry approach to water accounting. It provides a clear, flexible approach VICTORIAN WOMEN IN RESOURCES AWARDS The Victorian Women in Resources Awards recognise and promote diversity across Victoria’s minerals industry. The awards are hosted in partnership between the Minerals Council of Australia Victoria and AusIMM Women in Mining Network Victoria. TRANSPORT OF URANIUM Australian uranium is transported around the world by road, rail, and sea. The journey starts at the mine where the uranium ore concentrate is put into 200 litre steel drums, each weighing between 300-400 kg. The drums are inspected to check they are tightly sealed when they are moved. The drums are inspected to check they are tightly sealed when they are moved.
