The National Museum in Kraków has gathered the largest and most valuable collection of works by Stanisław Wyspiański (1869-1907) — one of the most important, original and appreciated artist from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, who belongs among such artists as Klimt, Mucha and Gaudi; the exhibition comprises of about 900 works. LEONARDO DA VINCI "LADY WITH AN ERMINE" Leonardo da Vinci "Lady with an Ermine" 19.05.2017-08.12.2019. Save a tree. Do not print this unless it is really necessary. The painting was purchased ca. 1800 in Italy, by Adam Jerzy, the son of Princess Izabela Czartoryska, and donated to the Museum in Puławy where it was exhibited in the ‘Gothic House’ from 1809–1830. A DISPLAY OF REMBRANDT VAN RIJN'S WORK From 23 July, visitors to the Princes Czartoryski Arsenal Museum have the opportunity to see 'Landscape with the Good Samaritan' by a renowned Dutch artist – Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606–1669). The display heralds the exhibition, scheduled for next year, which will present selected collections of the Princes Czartoryski Museum, currently under reconstruction. POLISH LEGIONS 1914–1918 Exhibition on the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War and the Legions. On 6 August 2014, on the centenary of the march-out of the First Cadre Company, an exhibition commemorating the Polish Legions was opened in the Main Building of the National Museum in Krakow. REMBRANDT. LANDSCAPE WITH THE GOOD SAMARITAN Exhibition of painting "Landscape with the Good Samaritan" of the great Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606–1669). "Landscape with the Good Samaritan" of 1638 is one of few known, preserved, single oil landscapes by Rembrandt van Rijn, as well as one of the most valuable works of European art in Polish collections. ZOFIA STRYJEŃSKA'S ARTISTIC LANGUAGE We are presenting a selection of works by Zofia Stryjeńska from the collection of the National Museum in Krakow. The technique involving water-based paint on paper (gouache, watercolour), practised by the artist since her earliest days, was perfected by Stryjeńska in the1920s.
