SPIRITED ARTS 2021
The annual competition starts at the beginning of every school year and runs through the spring and summer terms. All entries must be received before 31 July 2021. To enable teachers to incorporate the art competition into their RE lessons, many schools have an ‘Spirited Arts’ unit of work, or a special learning RE/arts week.Many schools

2016. We are delighted to announce TWO major changes to Spirited Arts for 2016 to enable teachers to continue to develop and improve their RE through the competition. Firstly, we have decided, not without some discussion, to suggest certain themes would suit Primary or Secondary classrooms better. We feel that detail, depth and creativity is REAL PEOPLE REAL FAITH Real People Real Faith. A series of interviews filmed in locations across Berkshire, featuring local faith communities answering questions about their faith. Two questions, specific to each key stage were asked across the range of venues and in most venues, several people answered each question.RETODAY E-RESOURCES

This issue of REtoday, along with the recent – and remarkable – Strictly RE at Home conference, which attracted nearly 400 participants, is focused on issues of justice, and particularly on issues around race and ethnicity. ANTI-RACIST RE RESOURCES Anti-racist RE. These project materials are designed to help teachers of Religious Education plan and provide excellent learning in the classroom that encourages pupils to learn about religion and beliefs, racism and prejudice in challenging ways that promote the NATRE WELCOME OFSTED’S RE RESEARCH REPORT NATRE warmly welcomes Ofsted’s Research review report on religious education, which highlights the priority Ofsted places on the importance of high quality RE in all schools.. BOOKS - NATRE
In primary schools, classrooms usually have displays of books available for pupils to browse. In secondary schools, school libraries/learning resource centres will often contain sizeable collections of RE-related books but these can sometimes be dated and, in both faith and non-faith schools, need checking and probablydiscarding.

This approach is at the heart of AT1 and still has tremendous influence over teaching. It is best when it takes a comprehensive approach toreligion.
NEW OFSTED FRAMEWORK AND ITS IMPLICATIONS FOR RE The new education inspection framework from Ofsted had been published along with the inspection handbook.Much has been written elsewhere about the implications for schools more widely, for example in Schools Week.. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (RE) RESOURCES A Humanist Manifesto PPT. This PowerPoint sequence supports ideas from RE Today’s book Examining RE: Atheists pp. 8-9. It explores the Humanist Manifesto and gives ideas on how to METHODS OF TEACHING RE Phenomenologists want students to understand the "nuts and bolts" of religion using the Smartian seven dimensions of religion: ritual, practice, narrative, doctrinal, ethical, social and material. This approach is at the heart of AT1 and still has tremendous influence over teaching. It is best when it takes a comprehensive approach toreligion.
