The defibrillator is now installed on the Coastwatch Station’s perimeter fencing, and is available to the public, day and night, all year round. St Donat's Bay. This Station is currently under development and will be opening Spring / Summer 2021. The idea of establishing a National Coastwatch Institution watch station at St Donat's Bay on the South Wales coast, overlooking the Bristol Channel was first discussed in October 2019 as part of the Sea Front development project at Atlantic PILOTAGE AND HARBOUR GUIDES Pilotage and Harbour Guides. The Solent and Southampton Water area is a great place for water borne leisure activities. To make your time there even more enjoyable, we would like you to be safe. SOLENT TIDES AND CURRENTS Introduction . The shape of the English Channel results in the tidal range along the Dorset Coast being small. The tidal range increases from Dorset towards the Solent, while the various tidal contributions from the moon and sun combine to given a more complicated tidal variation than observed elsewhere in the UK. The idea of establishing a National Coastwatch Institution watch station at St Donat's Bay on the South Wales coast, overlooking the Bristol Channel was first discussed in October 2019 as part of the Sea Front development project at Atlantic College. WILDLIFE OF GWENNAP HEAD The geographic position of Gwennap Head means that it is strategically important for wildlife, both marine and land-based. From our lookout we can see north-west to Lands End right round to the Lizard peninsula, taking in the Isles of Scilly, Wolf Rock and part of MountsBay.

NCI Newhaven was founded in 2004 so 2021 marks seventeen years of continuous community service without a single day of watchkeeping missed, except during the initial compulsory eight-week Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. SWANAGE - QAVS
Swanage NCI is one of the oldest stations, opening on this site on 15 April 1995. The current lookout was built by the members in 2001 under the guidance of Ian Surface, the station's first manager, a local builder. Currently 57 NCI stations are operational and manned by over 2600 volunteers keeping watch around the British Isles from Fleetwood in the North West, through Wales, to the South and East of England to Hornsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire. NCI watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears along the coast, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility. They are trained to deal with emergencies offering a variety of skills and experience, and full training by the NCI ensures that highstandards are met.
