🏳️🌈 In 1977, Boylesque debuted at the Silver Slipper Casino’s Gaiety Theatre. The show starred Kenny Kerr as "Mr. Barbra Streisand, Mr. Marlene Dietrich, Mr. Carol Channing, and Mr. Diana Ross," and set a new standard for female impersonation productions..
Initially reluctant to be openly gay, Kerr went on to become one of the Las Vegas gay community's most thoughtful and honored leaders. (Show ad via @news3lv) #NeonMuseumLasVegas.

Sixty-six years ago today, the historic and iconic Moulin Rouge openedits doors!
.
The Moulin Rouge later played an important role in ending segregation in Las Vegas in March of 1960. Local civil rights leaders planned to stage a march in protest of hotel segregation unless officials agreed to meet with them. The march never happened, but the meeting resulted in the Moulin Rouge Agreement that led to the integration of the casinos and hotels. #NeonMuseumLasVegas.
