NOW Gallery is thrilled to welcome one of the UK’s most pioneering young fashion designers, Nicholas Daley, as its 2021 Fashion Commission. The fully immersive exhibition, RETURN TO SLYGO will celebrate the coming together of Nicholas’s multicultural Jamaican-Scottish roots with his passion for music in a multi-sensoryinstallation.
CAREERS – NOW GALLERY In line with current COVID 19 guidelines, we will be reopening our doors from 18 May with Nicholas Daley’s solo exhibition Return to Slygo. We are looking forward to HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS Liz West. Greenwich Peninsula has commissioned artist Liz West to create Hundreds and Thousands for the Tide in 2021. The artwork wraps 700m of the walkway’s glass balustrades, creating a ribbon of undulating colour. The installation contemplates the subtle nuances of light in this unique riverside location as we transition from Springto Summer.

This Summer, NOW Gallery will be consumed by a jungle conceptualized by Birmingham born illustrator Manjit Thapp. The Camberwell college of art graduate is NOW Gallery’s young artist of the year 2021. Her painterly, iconographic style will be lifted from the page to create her first immersivecommission.

The Seafood Disco. Studio Morison. Studio Morison have designed a long gently curving 60 seater picnic bench beside the Thames in the shape of a smile called the Seafood Disco. The work began in the studio with a bag of coconuts and the old Tommy Cooper joke, “I went to a seafood disco – and pulled a muscle”. The coconuts led to aplayful

Secret 7”, the much-loved anonymous charity record sleeve sale, will return for its seventh event following a hiatus in 2019.NOW Gallery will be transformed with a display of 700 records each with individual sleeve designs. The records are created by pressing seven iconic tracks onto 7” vinyl, with each track being limited to just 100copies.
PLANAR 1/1 – NOW GALLERY On 3rd December, the seventh and final Secret 7” will culminate in Planar 1/1, an auction of customised Rega Planar 1 turntables by world-famous artists including Sir Paul Smith, Morag Myerscough, Shona Heath and Gregor Hildebrandt. The auction will be open for pre-bids and registration from Tuesday 20th October with The AuctionCollective.
THE MOUSE AND HIS CHILD The Mouse and his Child. Studio Morison. 28 Feb – 28 Apr 2019. For NOW Gallery’s 2019 Design commission, creative duo Studio Morison will create a sculptural space containing a library of children’s fiction written by adult fiction authors, named after the children’s novel The Mouse and His Child by Russell Hoban.
