Three detachments consisting of 273 people eventually were sent to Pueblo for the winter of 1846-47. On 21 December 1846 the battalion encamped on the Gila River. Three detachments consisting of 273 people eventually were sent to Pueblo for the winter of 1846-47. On 21 December 1846 the battalion encamped on the Gila River.
