Resilience is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the healing and empowerment of sexual assault survivors through non-judgmental crisis intervention counseling, individual and group trauma therapy, and medical and legal advocacy in EDUCATION AND TRAINING With over 40 years of experience, Resilience is well suited to provide professional training to enhance knowledge of sexual assault, its impact on victims, and resources for survivors of sexual violence. Audiences for professional trainings include: Graduate students, especially in law, medicine, or RESILIENCE TRAINING INSTITUTE (RTI) Resilience Training Institute. All professionals and service providers should feel equipped to support survivors, and all survivors should be able to count on trustworthy, specialized institutional responses. In 2018, we established the Resilience Training Institute (RTI) in order to meet the urgent need among Chicago professionals and service SPECIALIZED TRAININGS Resilience’s Specialized Trainings are designed for a wide range of professionals on various topics to increase their capacity to work with survivors of sexual assault. These evidence-based trainings go in-depth on various topical subjects taught by experts in the field. LCPC/LCSW CEUs are offered for VICTIMS’ RIGHTS AND LEGAL SUPPORT Victims’ Rights. Resilience believes that you should have all of the information necessary to make decisions about exercising your rights under the law. Our legal advocates can provide information and support, as well as refer you to additional resources such as attorneys who specialize in representing victims of sexual violence.CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
Child Sexual Abuse. Approximately 20% of adult females and 5-15% of adult males have experienced some form of sexual abuse in childhood or adolescence. Child sexual abuse, defined as sexual activity involving a child in the context of an abusive situation, can affect children of all ages and backgrounds. VICTIMS’ RIGHTS AND LEGAL SUPPORT Victims’ Rights. Resilience believes that you should have all of the information necessary to make decisions about exercising your rights under the law. Our legal advocates can provide information and support, as well as refer you to additional resources such as attorneys who specialize in representing victims of sexual violence.CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
Child Sexual Abuse. Approximately 20% of adult females and 5-15% of adult males have experienced some form of sexual abuse in childhood or adolescence. Child sexual abuse, defined as sexual activity involving a child in the context of an abusive situation, can affect children of all ages and backgrounds.
