In some ways, I'm very much the same, but I've also learned so much in the past 20 or so years, and it's gotten me thinking a lot about what I wish I'd known then. I don't want to dwell on the past, of course, but HEALTH IS WEALTH : HOW TO COPE WHEN YOU'RE FEELING POORLY ALLOW FOR A MINI-MELTDOWN. It's OK to get frustrated to cry and to not be 100% positive every second. 6 STEPS FOR DEALING WITH EMOTIONALLY DRAINING PEOPLE Here are some of the best ways to deal with emotionally draining people. STEP 1 : CREATE PERSONAL PEACE. First and foremost, you have to be in a peaceful emotional state yourself, or it’s going to be really difficult to cope with others’ emotions. Of course, creating personal peace is no easy task (it’s kind of the point of this whole WHAT STORIES ARE YOU TELLING YOURSELF? Though this interaction is happening only in your mind, you start to physically feel as if you are in that moment: your palms sweat, your heart races, your muscles tense. The story you’re telling isn’t real, but the way you feel is. You have turned ideas into your reality. You are mentally and physically living in a moment thatdoesn’t
6 LESSONS I LEARNED FROM 6 YEARS SOBER Here are the top six lessons I’ve learned. Even if you’re not sober or trying to get sober, I hope they’ll inspire you! LESSON #1. YOU HAVE TO WANT IT. 6 STEPS FOR COPING WITH FEAR Step 1: Recognize that you’re afraid. The first — and maybe most important — step when it comes to fear is realizing you’re afraid. Fear can manifest itself in all sorts of forms that may make it seem like something it’s not. Personally, I’ve found that a lot of the time when I seem angry or annoyed, I’m actually afraid. HYGGE: WHAT IT IS + 11 WAYS TO DO IT Recently I came across the concept of hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) — a Danish word that doesn’t have an exact English equivalent, but means something along the lines of enjoying cozy intimacy, celebrating by candlelit surrounded by friends, feeling content in the moment — and I instantly became obsessed.Hygge is about finding meaning in the ordinary aspects of life. SHOULD YOU STAY OR GO? : 5 QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU CHOOSE Should you stay or should you go? Whether it’s leaving a job, a romantic relationship, or a friendship — the decision to stay where you are or make a change can be incredibly daunting, particularly if there’s no urgent reason to leave (i.e., if you’re not being treated badly and you don’t absolutely have to get out of thesituation).
