RedLine’s Makers for Masks project was created out of the need to provide Denver’s homeless communities and shelters with masks, while giving artists income during this time. By merging contemporary art with arts education and community involvement, RedLine Residents help bring the transformative power of art to the surrounding neighborhoods and beyond. In 2021 RedLine will not be accepting applications for the Artist-in-Residency program. The call will re-open in March of 2022. 2020/21 THEME: AFROFUTURISM + BEYOND In 2020 and 2021, RedLine presents Afrofuturism + Beyond, a series of exhibitions and programs inspired by the cultural genre and art movement known as Afrofuturism, a term coined by Mark Dery in his 1994 essay “Black to the Future.”Dery asked: “Can a community whose past has been deliberately rubbed out, and whose energies have subsequently been consumed by the search for ARTS IN SOCIETY (AIS) Arts in Society is a new grant fund in Colorado, available to both individual artists and activists, arts organizations, non-arts organizations, schools, and government agencies.
