ROBERSON MANSION
The Buffalo firm of Townsend & Fleming was hired to landscape the grounds. A tall wrought-iron fence, designed by the architect and manufactured by Titchener Iron Works, enclosed the property. The home was completed in May of 1907 at an estimated cost of $107,500 for the house, stable, fence, and landscaping. Alonzo died May 16, 1934. EVENTS & ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS The Hot and Energetic Universe. This 27-minute video showcases recent advancements in the science of astronomy. Of particular interest has been the development of instruments that can detect frequencies of light invisible to the human eye, from low energy infrared and radio waves, to high energy ultraviolet rays, x-rays, and gamma rays. STEAM SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION FOR KIDS Pricing. Price for an entire week is $172 for Roberson members, and $215 for non-members. We’ve also added an option for parents to make $25 deposits and pay later. Deposits are non-refundable. 2021 Summer Camps. Registration buttons located after the camp list. Please choose to register as a Roberson Member, Non-Member, or make a deposit. ROBERSON CLAYWORKS BEGINNER POTTERY CLASSES Students will receive 25 pounds of clay as part of the cost of the class. Additional clay may be purchased when needed for $25 for a 25 pound bag. Included is studio time outside of class along with all firings and glazes. Each course has a limit of 10 openings. Students 17 years and older are welcome to register. All students must beregistered.

OUR HISTORY
Our story starts in 1934 when Roberson Memorial, Inc was established by the will of Alonzo Roberson, to create an “educational center for the use and benefit of all people.”. The Roberson Memorial Center (as it was first called) opened to the public in 1954 in the Roberson Mansion. At that time, the Binghamton Museum of Fine Arts ABOUT THE PLANETARIUM SHOWS NEAR YOU Length: 25 minutes. This show examines the Earth-Moon-Sun system with the help of Coyote, a character adapted from Native American oral traditions. Topics include why the Sun rises and sets; how Earth’s rotation and revolution relate to day and night; and the Moon’s orbit, phases, eclipses and surface features. YouTube.FOR EDUCATORS
Join us for one, two, or three of our special virtual programs below where your students will interact in real-time with a Museum educator as you are guided through an activity and video tour of our exhibits. This exhibition offers visitors a walk through of a partial model of a longhouse, an opportunity to listen to how lacrosse sticks are made and watch traditional dances, weave patterns on NEW EXHIBITION: ‘FOCUS ON NATURE’ Focus on Nature officially opens to the public on Sunday, July 21. This exhibition is in its 15th year, and Roberson will be hosting these stunning collection of pieces for the first time. Experience the depth of nature through these vibrant and dynamic contemporary natural history illustrations in this biennial, international, juried show. The Buffalo firm of Townsend & Fleming was hired to landscape the grounds. A tall wrought-iron fence, designed by the architect and manufactured by Titchener Iron Works, enclosed the property. The home was completed in May of 1907 at an estimated cost of $107,500 for the house, stable, fence, and landscaping. Alonzo died May 16, 1934. Earth From Space. Earth from Space is a 20-poster exhibition that gives visitors a orbital perspective of rare views of Earth events, such as the swirling arms of a massive hurricane to the ecological effects from human activity. Satellite technology offers us a way to document major events and changes happening on Earth. PROPAGANDA: SELLING A WAR Propaganda: Selling A War takes visitors back to a time when neutrality–staying out of war was the cultural mindset. After all, America was built on the foundation of neutrality. It was a value engineered by first President George Washington as a means of survival. Newly-founded America could not support the financial burdenof wars.
ARTS AVENTURE
Arts Adventure is an arts education collaboration amongst area Arts organizations: Binghamton Philharmonic, the Goodwill Theatre, the Roberson Museum and Science Center, and the Tri-Cities Opera. This collaborative project is underwritten through a grant from the Conrad and Virginia Klee Foundation. Scheduled Events: HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS Home for the Holidays runs from November 18 – January 8.Roberson will be open 7 days a week with extended hours! Home for the Holidays features hundreds of elaborately decorated trees, dazzling Holiday displays, and the International Forest–a collection of adorned trees and displays that represent the holiday traditions of cultures fromaround the world.
