ABOUT US - ROOT WHOLE BODY The idea of Root was planted over ten years ago, as I was going through my own health crisis overcoming a very invasive cancer. Although there were many fear pictures with the diagnosis (my mother and aunt had died from the same), my intuition led me to seek out more ‘life-affirming’ approaches to my treatment besides surgery andradiation.

This was the first yoga studio I started off at and how lucky I was to do this. I originally went to their NE location and they've opened this NW location a few years ago. Owners are awesome and spared no expense in what they offer. This not just a yoga studio but also a place for wellness. Step in and you'll feel like you've entered a sanctuary for healing. The yoga studio is great. Quiet. Wonderful instruction. All the props you need. After class check out their tea room. Nice place to chill out. Their sauna is also awesome (and included in your drop-in). Shower facilities are great - nice towels, robes, everything you need. And the NW location also has food! I've had juices as well as meals. They are all tasty and healthy, many Asianinspired.

This little urban oasis is a spa and holistic health center wrapped into one. I have acupuncture, an infrared sauna treatment, facial and massage there. In between the treatments I get to hang out in the cutest of tea rooms. They also have a full cafe with vegan option which are SO SO good (especially the Japanese breakfast bowl madeveg).

I had a 75-minute massage by Kadie Hedin. I can honestly say it's one of the best massages I have ever received. She focussed on my back and neck and it was incredibly relieving. I was lucky enough to attend a private event here where I was introduced to several of their services...I came back for a facial with Kelly and WOW...JUST WOW...Blown away as to the care and also the different nature of this facial....She specifically targeted my face and its desire to over oil. She used a cayenne face mask which tingled oh so good but wow, the difference. I was glowing after. After sampling their food, I really would recommend you make some time when you go here to grab a soak or some sauna time before or after your service, have some tea and grab some snacks to refresh and nourish your body. This is such an inviting space and you are meant to stickaround.

I went here today to try out the Infrared Sauna. I had been going to a dry sauna at my gym but really wanted to see what the difference was. I was able to sit in the sauna for 50 minutes versus 20 minutes in a dry sauna. It was private, relaxing, comfortable, and amazing. I felt so good when I left. You can change the program to whatever is best for you (Weight Loss, Detox, Anti-Aging, etc). How cool is that? If it was a little cheaper ($35 per session) I would probably do this every other day...but I'll have to settle for every couple of weeks. Womp, womp...however, I highly recommend trying it. Everything else about this place is also wonderful. Staff is lovely and it's not toobusy.

Ok, I really wish I lived closer to this place, I'd be here all the time!! I was here first for a Yelp event and was really impressed. So I came back for a facial and wow, it was so good!! My esthetician clearly knew what she was doing and gave me some great tips about how to take care of my skin considering some hereditary issues I'm dealing with. She was so knowledgeable and gave a great scalp massage. Root also has a cafe with special teas and delicious healthy food. It smells so good and tastes fantastic! They have a ton of other services too like yoga, massage, and acupuncture. I highly recommend you checkit out.

I love Root! The massage therapists are amazing and I have never found a better group of massage therapists who are as consistent, thorough, intuitive, and actually listen to their clients. Jonathan the acupuncturist is an actual lifesaver. I have spent the entirety of my life bashing acupuncture and "healing medicine" but found myself on day 8 of the worst migraine I've ever had, and reluctantly caved to the whims of acupuncture and the notion that I would be pain-free. 24 hours later and I am on a 2 or 3 on the pain scale. I was a full blown 10 when I went in. Not only did Jonathan listen to me, he asked very intuitive questions and added supplements to my diet that have already aided in my well being. Root has always provided me with knowledgable, challenging, and talented Yoga teachers. Some of these kind & caring teachers I can personally recommend are Melissa Barber, Erin Wilson, Brittany Kerr, and Erika Bolstad. If that wasn't enough, the variety of classes and a workable schedule keeps me coming back on a regular basis. They have a beautiful NW studio and a lot of amenities (sauna, warm tea, showers, relaxing atmosphere). I highly recommend anyone interested in just starting or wanting to grow their yoga practice to join theRoot community.

I work nearby and pop in for lunch a few times a month when I have the time. I leave feeling more relaxed, as though I just took a little time for me. (even though it's just lunch!) They have wonderful nutritious lunches featuring nutrient dense foods. I sometimes add an egg to make it more substantial. The curry, Japanese breakfast plate and greens dish are some of my favorites. Their shakes are pricey, but oh-so-good and filling! I absolutely love their food and their vibe.
